This game does a great job of making boss fights really hype especially how the music swells once you start hitting the weak point. I love everything that happens after the boss fight it’s legitimately really great writing. It’s crazy how the big bad just shows up to put the heroes down while making a grand display of his power which fits with how Midna described Zant up to this point & I agree her facial expressions are great you can really tell how much rage she feels towards Zant. It's really disturbing/creepy how he holds her hostage & talks to her especially getting up close & personal with her & the camera but it’s admirable that she stands up to him in the face of extreme power as well as the oppression she and her people faced according to him in defense of the light world & her people. Also I love how Link immediately jumps at the guy because Link is the kind of person who would try to stop someone who hurts others & it shows how his and Midna’s as relationship has developed. I love how the way they animated & the colors they chose to change for Midna in this section because it really emphasizes how sickly/close to death she is especially the incredible performance of her VA Akiko Kōmoto I love her performance in this game in general but this is 1 of my favorite parts of that performance especially the ragged breathing along with the VA doing a great job of making it sound like she’s having a hard time speaking it hits hard & really makes me feel for her. And the song that plays while you desperately try to figure out what to do next & help Midna is beautiful, breathtaking & haunting it’s my favorite track in the game. I love that it’s called Midna’s Lament because she is lamenting the fact that she won’t be able to accomplish her goal & laments are often about the sadness connected to death and it’s fitting when a big theme of the game is things fading over time/nothing lasting forever. It says a lot about as her true colors that she is worried/cares about I others before herself 1st with her people then only thinking about helping Link & not wanting Zelda to sacrifice and it works well when she acts very mischievous and mean at the start of the game and slowly she starts to open up more & becomes friendlier with Link as she sees how he treats/acts towards others. And I think that caring/empathetic side is why the spirit teleported her along with Link to safety & why Zelda used her life force to save Midna’s life because they could sense about her. Also it’s cool that Zelda can use the Triforce of wisdom as a magical check up spell at least when it comes to curses. I love how much resolve/determination she has once Zelda is gone having one more reason to take down Zant after being shown a lot of faith/empathy by Zelda. Also it’s a bold choice to have Zelda sacrifice herself in a Zelda game it was shocking to a lot of Zelda fans when it came out and still is to new fans getting into the series. I keep forgetting to mention It but while all Hyrule field themes are iconic I think the 1 in this game is my favorite because of nostalgia & it just sounds incredible. I love how the concept of the lost woods with having to listen for the music to find your way along with skull kid who was also in that same forest & it’s a very fun sequence and like you said nice continuity. I think it’s cool as a challenge to get past to get to the Master sword as well as how you need to use Zelda’s lullaby to get there. I love the moment of getting the Master Sword it’s cool & magical that it’s so pure and good that it just cleanses you of the evil artifact Zant forced into Link’s head & I really like how it unlocks 1 of the best mechanics in any video game being able to fast travel at any time. I love how the classic theme comes in as this Link holds the Master Sword for the 1st time & the stylish flourish he does is amazing. Finally Midna being all mischievous about using what Zant gave them is really cute especially with the cheeky smirk. Awesome part & keep up the great work. :-) <3

If you didn't think the game was epic enough already, it ramps up the epic factor to 11 for the last chunk of the game. Some of my favorite dungeons in the entire Zelda series are coming up!

It's often the simplest obstacles that are the most deadly
