The first poll of 2025!
Added 2025-01-06 03:26:20 +0000 UTCIt's time for the next Big Boss poll and we're looking at the next Zelda game I'll play.
We're split three ways, do we experience 2D Zelda? Do we experience a completely different style with Wind Waker? or do we tackle Twilight Princess, which is apparently a good choice after Majora's Mask?
Going off the reception to finishing MM, this seems to be the three recommended pathways to take, and I leave it to you to decide!

All the choices are amazing but TP will always be the superior one for me because its story and tone are so much more in-depth than most of the other Zelda games. And if you enjoyed Majora's Mask it takes some obvious inspiration with its dark themes.

Playing the 3D Zeldas in release order allows you to see how the games changed, how they improved, and how the "Zelda formula" became more and more fixed (until Breath of the Wild went in an entirely separate direction). I'd compare it with you playing Half-Life 2 after the original Half-Life (and not Black Mesa first). You noticed the amazing leap in gameplay and graphics, which you wouldn't have if you went with Black Mesa first. Going for Twilight Princess after Ocarina of Time won't make it apparent where TP comes from, with Wind Waker a vitally important missing Link (pun intended).

2025-01-06 18:30:21 +0000 UTCI voted Wind Waker because I thought it would be a good change of pace compared to Twilight Princess which is very Ocarina-ish. But then I remembered how frickin' good the dungeons in TP are and now I want to see that.
