I think the Tash quests tend to get better over time they have the opposite arc as the other companions they start cutscenes and later get more interactive while the others are interactive and get cut scenes later. They do have gameplay quests, and they are also a dragon hunter but unless you bring them when you are fighting dragons they don't really have much to say because they are so consumed with finding who they are. I guess I never really saw it as reducing them to the gender thing because it's all wrapped up in culture being raised one way in a society that doesn't work like how you were taught. It does take up more space in your head than even you realize as someone who did grow up in an area that was predominantly not of my race, culture, or religion. On my second playthrough, I encouraged them to find themselves as Qunari, and I found it more engaging than the Rivani option. Also the Tash and Emmerich "fight" would make a ton more sense if they were in your party together they are very funny in their bickering about corpses and dragons

Very cool

The same thing happens in Dragon Age 2. If you primarily pick the aggressive dialogue options, then Hawke's idle/combat dialogue follows suit. Same for if you pick the diplomatic/sarcastic dialogue choices

Its actually really interesting that, because you often pick the stern/stoic dialogue options, your character makes more stern comments in general (good example of this at 4:03) also, Rook's idle animations change based on what you tend to pick in dialogues too, I believe.

I don’t think you’ve had Emmrich and Taash together in your party, but they do have some very heated (and funny) conversations and that’s why you get that conversation
