Oh, and here I was absolutely certain you can miss some of them.

NPCs that are summonable inside the boss room can add to quest lines in the form of additional dialogue. NPCs that are summonable outside of the boss room are not necessary to summon for anything.

I would recommend toggling on the recent items tab to help with locating stuff you pick up.

False information. You might miss on some lines but questline and rewards wont be affected by you summoning them or not

Just making it clear and spoiler free - NO NPC summoning on boss fights is required to progress their questline in this game/dlc!

I've just caught up, and it's so good to see you back in Elden Ring :)
I don't want to come across as a back seater, so feel free not to read further, but I do have a few bits of non-spoilery advice:
- in the last episode, you commented on the shadow figure who had a pot on its head, but I don't think you noticed that it disappeared while you weren't looking. It's worth going back and checking it out.
- Ansbach didn't say there were 6 crosses in total, just that there were 6 crosses known to him, and he asked you to tell him if you found any more.
- Scadutree fragments are crucial - if you feel like you're banging you're head against a wall like against the Dancing Lion, I'd recommend exploring to look for some and boost your damage/damage negation.

Yeah, there are some NPC questlines and dialogues that are unlockable ONLY if you summon them to a boss fight. Freya, is one, but hers are small, compared to some other NPCs... also I'm not certain if she does not need to survive in order to have them xDD
And speak more to Ansbach, I believ he still has something to say.
