Yes I took at least 1 beacon if not 2 every time I went exploring. Was so easy to map out any points of interest that way and they take up basically no space for how useful they are . They are cheap/easy to make for a reason.

2023-04-06 12:05:03 +0000 UTCI can offer a few non-spoilery tips for your quality of life: scannable things show up an icon in the bottom right even if you don’t have the scanner equipped. When you start exploring further out, Beacons will become very helpful (it’s so easy to forget where things are). You can name beacons. Storage will always be a problem, don’t underestimate how much storage you’ll need once you move beyond waterproof lockers. If you find a fragment to scan on the sea bed, look about that general area until you have all the pieces - otherwise you may miss them and forget where you found the first piece a few hours later. this is all given from the context of someone who is in the late game and has run into these issues, so I’m writing this in case it helps you avoid the pitfalls I fell into (that aren’t fun game things to figure out, but simply things that will save you time and frustration). I hope you continue to have fun, I feel you may be right that this will be a challenging game!
