Ahhh wasn't expecting to be sobbing in this episode 😭

Moonlight Chicken | 1x7 | Full Reaction

Comments

I've never been able to watch Khaotung as Gaipa singing for his mom without bawling. Many rewatches under my belt, and still sobbing.

Ang

ahh that's so cool! <3 thanks for answering hehe and never late!

Fabian Gonzalez

Late to the party but to answer your question Earth's (Jim's) tattoos are real btw and yes the actors for Gaipa and Alan are an official pairing. I definitely recommend checking some of their stuff out like Heart Killers or Only Friends

milk

ahh this episode 😭

Fabi

So much pain 😢 you can really feel it through the screen!! The acting in this is fantastic!

Jens

creo que este capitulo nos destrozó a todos, por qué siempre las personas más buenas tienen que morir?😭💔 la actuación de Khao como siempre es impecable

Jeann

I 100% agree with your description of Mix’s acting style. He’s not an actor who drives me crazy, but he consistently delivers and feels so natural. I need to start watching his latest comedic work (Ossan's), but I don’t have a single complaint about his acting in any other series he’s been in.

Philippe

Li Ming es mi personaje favorito de esta serie. Me encanta lo contestón que es, todo un adolescente con mucho carácter jajsjsj Ver actuar a Fourth es algo que disfruto demasiado <3

Tatiana Arzamendia

Too painful! 😭

Fabi

This episode was painful.

It’s hard to single actors out in this one because everyone is so good - but I’ve always really liked Mix and he sometimes gets overlooked. I’ve been a fan since I first saw him in “A Tale of a Thousand Stars” and “Fish Upon the Sky” both in 2021, though he had minor guest roles going back to 2016. He has a unique look, a unique charm and almost effortless natural acting style. Of course, his successful pairing with Earth pushed him firmly into the BL spotlight.

Khun Timmy

Great observation.

Khun Timmy

it's like we all were there at the funeral 😭

Fabi

💔😭😭😭😭

Fabi

the image of him crying while singing to his mum will stay in my mind for a long time 😭

Fabi

He really, really, REALLY did!

Fabi

aww sending hugs! 🤗

Fabi

ahh yess! That's a great scene!

Fabi

haha sorry Orins 😂❤️

Fabi

😂 it left me exhausted

Fabi

I'm so glad they kept that scene as it is!

Fabi

ahhh I usually cry just seeing others cry, but he just makes me sob 😭

Fabi

He really managed to make me love him as a side character! I'm a fan!

Fabi

It really is 😭

Fabi

Yes, that's what I've been trying to say. It's easy to be mad at characters, but these ones feel so real, so human that it makes you understand. And Gaipa, well, aaaah 😭

Fabi

omg not you crying at 7AM 😭

Fabi

Khao's acting is breathtaking. He made me feel Kaipa's pain and grief. Don't worry Fabi, we all cried together, and it's ok not commenting at the end, we all know how overwhelming feelings can be.

calebitto

when he says "Mommy"

orins belt

I have watched moonlight chicken like 5 times and all of those five times I ALWAYS cry when khaotung sings to his mom,, it’s my sixth time watching it now and surprise, still cried.

vale

Weeping in this episode it's nonnegotiable I fear, Khaotung really outdid himself with this one

Khan

I'm the same as Fabi, I'm a mess and I don't even know what to say =(

Philippe

Just I didn't want to suffer THAT much!

Philippe

I hadn't taken my allergy meds yet, so now I'm really ugly crying. Amongst all these great scenes, the one that I think gets overlooked is the one where Leng and Li Ming are in the alley; it's so existential...what do parents and children actually owe each other? So much foreshadowing...

Michael Craig

I have watched this show 5 times and you made me cry so hard. lol I am exhausted

orins belt

So happy when I saw the new episode was online… and the first thing I see is Fabi crying XD. OK, I guess I better brace myself! Bring it! I'm all in for suffering today XD

Philippe

The traditional Thai Buddhist funeral lasts 3,5 or 7 days (always an odd number). In this case we know Hong’s funeral was 3 days because of the “closed for three days” sign on Jim’s shop. Usually the monks chant for almost 24 hours straight beginning sun down on 1st day. The cremation took place the afternoon on the 3rd day.

Tom Schlange

And the show with the most iconic & unnecessary opening credits ever, Dark Blue Kiss. The man is a genius

Natalie Warner

I love how mature Jim and Wen's relationship became throughout the show, they know when it's not about them, they know there are people around them who need them and in some moments you have to prioritize other relationships in your life

Onesan Talks Like Nemu-chan

Love that show, if a show has Khao crying I will be front seat

Onesan Talks Like Nemu-chan

I haven't started yet but the thumbnail is making me brace myself

Croix Royce

This episode never fails to make me cry.

LeCrunchNoir

So many traumatic experiences happened this episode. Alan having to see Wen be with Uncle Jim. Gaipa losing his mom. Especially in the way that he did. Uncle Jim being reminded of the trauma & homophobia inflicted upon him after Beam’s death. On top of the internalized homophobia he has. This episode drained me.

Gemini

“It’s bad enough you’re poor! And now you’re gay?!” Lmao!! Uncle Jim I’m gonna hold your hand when I say this. THE CALL IS COMING FROM INSIDE THE HOUSE. Like bffr!! 🤣😂😩 And I understand Uncle Jim’s point but sir be so for real right not.

Gemini

Fun fact: the actor who plays Alan is very, very close to the actor who plays Gaipa. In the funeral scene, Allan wasn't supposed to cry, but seeing his friend crying like that made him unable to hold back. So they decided to keep the scene even though it wasn't "in keeping with the character". I was very happy they left it in, because in fact it wasn't acted out, it was real emotions.

wjr.

I’m not crying!! You are!! 😭😩 When I tell you this episode breaks me every single time. Idk what worse Gaipa’s mother dying or me seeing Khaotung cry in any situation. In every instance that boy cries whether it’s in a series, or outside of a series I instantly wanna ball my eyes out with him. I need to watch behind the scenes because i just know First cried a 1000 tears seeing Khaotung cry. 😭

Gemini

The actor who plays Gaipa is immensely talented. I've watched a couple of BLs with him and he always steals the show when it comes to acting. Unbeatable (as is everyone else in this series, by the way. We have the cream of the BL industry here).

wjr.

So beautiful. Sad, poignant and lovely

Khun Timmy

cant wait for you to watch FirstKhaotung (The Eclipse) they are my favourite gmmtv actors

Slindile Mshugwana

It’s a great episode! I haven't rewatched moonlight chicken since it aired. So happy to be reminded how good it is!

Yowela

Did you know what made you cried so much in this ep?? Ya, because of P'Aof!. Who is he?? He is such an excellent BL director who created this masterpiece series...fyi, his others series that you should be watched to: 1. Bad Buddy (you watched it) 2. Last Twilight (you watched it) 3. Moonlight Chicken (still watching) 4. A Tale 1000 Stars (highly recommended)

Movies Watcher

I was so mad at Jim when I first watched this, but the episode did such a great job of helping you understand the characters and making them human, quite often how we feel, what we say do make no sense.. Thank God for Wen! The writers did Gaipa so dirty, he is so lovely and sweet. Khao is very good at crying, and making you cry with him in general.

Georgina Devonshire

for me, this episode was the most painful, but absolutely one of the best. So real. 🥺 it got me crying again (never fails) at 7AM.
