2025-05-31 14:50:42 +0000 UTCKobyyy! Yeah, I think they tried to adapt the novel to fit the budget, but it didn’t quite pay off 😆 And Mark’s flying? That felt way more like jumping than flying haha. NOOOO why’d you tell me that?! Now I’m mad we got this version of Tong's transformation 😭 The novel version sounds so much better, and darker, which I LOVE. That said, this ending wasn’t too bad. It did make sense based on how they portrayed the characters, and it added a bit more emotion to it… BUT still, they robbed me of Mark taking out Nakan! I needed that scene 😭 And yes, of course we can keep the chat going! <3 Thanks for watching along and being part of the fam 🤗

What's kinda weird for me is that the writing for this series took over a year to get done. Like... what were they doing?? XD;;; Since it was a book they actually had a really decent screenplay already written out! For me it wasn't really the director at fault but editing seemed weird too. As for the dialogue, I chalk that up to things being lost in translation. Sometimes words don't really translate well and you lose a lot of the nuance and meaning and I know Thai has a lot of that. Like in the episodes where Mark seemed to talk in third person. It's actually deeper than that, but there's not a good way to translate it. And Fabuuuuu! Of course Thara can fly! Remember Mark flew out the window in the first episode yeah? XD He didn't look nearly as diva-ish as Thara but you can't win them all! LOL *** Between the stars here I'm gonna talk a little about the differences from the book so skip if you don't wanna know. The way Tong turned into a vampire in the show was romantic as hell and I'm glad it was that way! BUT I also kinda liked the book because Tong did it to himself? In the book Mark refused to drink his blood so while Mark was incapacitated, Tong bit his lip and kissed him which made Mark lose control and kill him. Once he realizes what he's done, he cries over Tong while Nakan rips Thara's heart clean out of her chest. Nakan attacks Mark but only manages to scratch his neck before Mark kills him. Mark is able to heal Tong long enough to get him back for a bit but still hesitates to turn him so Tong takes things into his own hands and lunges at Mark's wound on his neck. XD;;; He's like "goddamit, Mark! I'll do it myself, you dumbass!" XDXD So yeah.. Book Nakan didn't get a redemption arc Thara and Miss Nuan (yes she died in the book!! ugghh!) were killed by Nakan Tonkla was killed by Thara (for no reason other than ego!) And the biggest difference? Mark and Tong, though they did some sexy stuff, never had sex until months after everything was over and both were vampires! Damn! XD *** So, Fabu, you were right about the setting looking like a wedding!! There were lots of parallels! Vows were exchanged, at one point they looked like they were dancing, and what Director P'Ark said was the ultimate "magic moment". That "I do" that Tong said? Completely unscripted and improvised by Gawin. Joss/Mark's reaction to that was entirely real and pushed that scene to a peak! P'Ark said he and just about all of the crew were crying at that moment! I was too! Man I got misty eyed through that entire scene but when Tong said "I do" I LOST IT. So yeah. I agree with you completely that I can see where it lost people after a few episodes, but I've always been here for Joss and Gawin so nothing was gonna bother me enough to not watch it. I have seen some HORRIBLE things, I know how to endure! XD;;;; I had a shit ton of fun on Twitter/X participating in trending the episodes! Over 1.5 million posts made for episode 12! Everyone worked their damn ass off! XD The boys had a BEAUTIFUL last episode fan meet! Gawin cried so hard! TOT He was so overwhelmed by the support. The encouragement he and Joss gave each other also seemed like a wedding! Mond even mentioned feeling like a groomsman! XD;;; So this leads me to....Can I keep the Golden Blood chat?? XDXD Maybe it can just be a JossGawin chat? I don't wanna let it goooo! And on a final note: THANK YOU FABU FOR STICKING WITH THIS AND WITH ME BEING A PSYCHO FANGIRL!!
