Late to this ep, but Vegas/Pete feelings: Pete and Vegas are two shattered human beings. Just absolutely broken by their childhoods and adult lives. In pieces. I think of them as kintsugi (the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with urushi lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum). They fit together in ways that are hard to see, except where that gold/silver/platinum illuminates the cracks. I don't *like* either of them, but I do think I get what the writers/show was going for. (Also, something that's stuck with me for YEARS is that when Vegas takes out his torture raincoat, Pete is the ONLY bodyguard outside that cell who does not look away; I wouldn't have noticed it, but there was SO MUCH META on tumblr re: VegasPete and that really made an impression on me when I read it. Anyway, Pete knows what Vegas is.)

Idk but I like the direction they took with Pete and Vegas lol, they also did foreshadow them in previous episodes a lot. I think, I’m a sucker for forbidden and toxic love cliches. 😭😂

Zenru Renari

Vegas's face is the only thing I CAN stand😅.. Everything else about him is crazy. But I think he is a very interesting character so I am enjoy that part of him.

Jens

Everything about Vegas and his relationship with Pete is unbearable and unacceptable. I've said this here several times. I'd also like to say many, many things to the people who defend Vegas, love him and root for him and Pete, but I don't have the money to pay lawyers and I want peace here.

wjr.

Two things become crystal clear in this episode. Vegas is a dangerous psychopath (if I’m being honest, that became crystal clear in the previous episode) and poor Pete is suffering from Stockholm syndrome. The writers & directors serve up this appalling buffet of mental & physical torture as a kinky bdsm lark. As I said in the last episode, Vegas’ essential character is that of calculating psychopath - a hungry crocodile with a lotus flower on its nose.

🤣🫢❤️

awww noooo poor Barcode! I don't know what he was channeling there but I wanna give him a hug!!! 😭

Fabian Gonzalez

😂😂

Fabian Gonzalez

ahhh yeah, that's a good point about Vegas and Pete knowing each other for a while!

Fabian Gonzalez

🫢 I mean we all deal with things differently. If it works for them, fine? As long as it's consensual and safe 😬 I just could not see myself enjoying either role 😭

Fabian Gonzalez

oooh that's a great observation and great easter egg! Love when they do stuff like that although I rarely notice it because I don't get the references 😆

Fabian Gonzalez

Yeah, I understand his past played a big role in why he's the way he is, and to be fair that's how most villains are created, both in fiction and in real life. But yeah, I see how Pete started a change in him

Fabian Gonzalez

hahahahaha I channeled the sadist in me 😂 and yh to be fair, I've only heard of Stockholm Syndrome from TV 😆

Fabian Gonzalez

lol I think I get it. I didn't know who Bible was before this, and I didn't grow any connection to the character (quite the opposite). But I understand that plays an important role in how people like him

Fabian Gonzalez

hahahaha I laughed so hard at the Pikachu torture idea 😂

Fabian Gonzalez

😂 hahahahaha I'm trying to think of 1,000 ways he could do that LOL

Fabian Gonzalez

hahahahhahaha 🍞

Fabian Gonzalez

Honestly, I love that I hate Vegas, it means he's playing the role so so great!

Fabian Gonzalez

hahaha me too!

Fabian Gonzalez

I said this before and I will say it again the only people who like Vegas are the people who need help and I am one of those people

Best things about this episode: 1) Fabi wishing for Vegas' death 2) Tankhun's reaction to Kinn loving Porsche 3) Vegas' safehouse Worst things: 4) Vegas 5) Episode trying to make us feel for Vegas 6) Porchay in the floor crying his soul out Kim, Internet have not forgive you yet for this crime =(

Philippe

People do not like Vegas because he somehow turns out to be a some good guy, he is the worst, people like him because he's so interesting and complex which is the best kind of character, I think one thing people are forgetting as well is Vegas and Pete knew each other a long time before the start of the show, they're in the same circle

Onesan Talks Like Nemu-chan

Best part of the show LOL

I need to be sent to that Safe House...it's gorgeous! It's kinda amusing that Vegas brings his interesting red and green lighting with him wherever he goes, yes?

Michael Craig

One of the tropes of romance stories is 'hurt/comfort' and it's quite popular. I've known couples irl who hurt each other all the time just because the comfort feels so good afterwards. It's kinda like being addicted to makeup sex? It's probably a sign of your good mental health Fabi that you don't see any of yourself in the Vegas/Pete relationship, but for us more damaged people, there's just so much of interest there. Still, I think I'd kill Vegas too if I was in Pete's place.

Michael Craig

From what I remember Pete situation was worse in books. Vegas deserves all the hate, but there always are people who like bad guys.

The book that Gun slapped out of Vegas's hands is 'Childhood's End' by Arthur C Clarke and it's about aliens who take over human society because we're so stupid and violent that we're about to extinct ourselves, so the aliens prevent that long enough so that humanity can evolve to the next level. It's a classic book. The theme of 'How do we break the cycle of violence that we have normalized?' does have some relevance to this series, right?

Michael Craig

I had a feeling you were not gonna be on the Vegas love train from the off. His behaviour is beyond terrible so i totally get why you don't like him- the things he does to Pete (and others) are completely unforgivable. He is, however, a character whose whole life is set up to believe everyone (including his family) is against him. He feels like he has no control of his life so he seeks to control others. I don't think he's ever known love (except for maybe his younger brother) and although that doesn't excuse his behaviour, I think it does go someway to explaining it. Pete is the only person who has ever tried to understand him which I think is what triggers the small change in behaviour.

LeCrunchNoir

Fabi, you get extra credit for imagination...never heard anybody suggest Pete stab out Vegas's eyes with the chopsticks before! But also, Stockholm Syndrome isn't actually a real thing that a mental health professional would diagnose...it's a media creation to explain away having empathy.

Michael Craig

I know what Vegas does is horrible and I hate every character in every show who does stuff like this. Idk why I can't be that rational when it comes to Vegas. I actually hate his actions but I like him as a character, don't ask me why, I can't explain. He's such a complex and interesting character for me (and yes, Bible being the sweetest doesn't make it easier to hate Vegas :D). But also for Vegas as a character, I kinda feel sorry for him. I also see his vulnerable and hurt side. He grew up in that circumstances. His whole life he was part of the mafia. Violence and torture was probably part of his daily life. It was normalized by the people around him. So it became normal for him. Don't get me wrong, I understand you being happy about him being slapped (for Pete, tho the reason wasn't Pete) but at the same time, maybe THIS is the reason Vegas became like this. His father expects him to take the lead and "beat" Kinn and the main familiy. He compares him, talks down to him, makes him feel worthless everytime. When he doesn't meet his fathers expectations he's getting slapped or hit. As far as we've seen now, he doesn't have anyone who tells him different or shows him what it feels like to be loved and valued. I guess it's been like that since he was a kid and tho that's no excuse for doing the same things himself, I understand how that would mess up a persons life and their values, morals and understanding of what's right and what's wrong. He def needs professional help. If it wasn't a series I'd still hate and despise him, so I get you Fabi :)

Lena

This, plus they give sadist/masochist vibes.

Elina

I am with you on your let’s kill Vegas plan. 😡 And it's okay for you that I come up with an idea of how we're going to do it, I say we electrocute him.⚡️ Because that was how he started torture ours sweet Pete.🥺 And to make it much more fun we should go as 🔴Pikachus.🔴 Sorry for my not so perfect English. And I am with you on the one not really liking Vegas. Or for me he is someone I love to hate. But we must be honest and say the actor for Vegas really looks good with red lightings or in red clothes.🫣🥵

flora

Fabi this episode: kill him, kill him, kill him hahahaha

Kari

I did always find the switch up hilarious.

Annie LV

Your reaction was so fun to watch 🤣 some magical stuff to remember while watching : no one in this series is innocent or good besides Porshay … Pete is a bodyguard in mafia … he kills people and torture them under the orders he gets. Vegas is sick, traumatized and evil … but he has something in common with Pete which is both were abused by their fathers. Pete got out of it but Vegas never did … Pete felt for him. Also I don’t know if u noticed but through the whole series Pete felt something when with Vegas in all eps … do u remember the temple ? When Pete came back he was all over the place, he couldn’t stay by himself so he kept bothering Porsche (who was listening to Tawan and kinn conversations at the time) so yeah … Pete had something about Vegas and he was always triggered by his actions. Now all this it not to deny that Pete will have Stockholm syndrome but just to say u should look to the whole context. Why do we have this peace with Vegas ? Well everyone as I said is messed up in this series … even Kim killed people … so amid this messed up world … when Vegas will be shown as weak, pressured by his father and abused … when he will look like someone lost who needed to hear those words from Pete to change a tiiiiiny bit … some of us can’t help but feel for him but without denying he is bad …

“We haven’t seen much product placement”. A loaf of bread is sobbing somewhere in the distance

As a Vegas lover it tickles me that Fabi wants him murdered asap!! Idk if it’s because I know what’s to come or I simply like watching those who hate Vegas pray for his downfall. Honestly the way Vegas’s character is set up I don’t think the writer wanted Vegas to be liked by the majority which is why even in his moments of humility & morality he’s able to switch back to the sadistic sadist that he is so fast. I think the writer is just giving insight on why he is the way he is. To the Vegas haters we fully understand your grievances. I also wanna say that this isn’t a story of Stockholm syndrome & I’ll explain further next episode why that is.

Gemini

My favorite part of this series has started!!! This episode is actually kinda hilarious to me. Everyone is going through the worse possible things meanwhile Kinn & Porsche are just living their best lives. 😩

Gemini

🤣 I love the thumbnail
