2025-05-19 09:13:20 +0000 UTCAh the episode that spawned much debate. Putting a 📌 in the end NC scene for now being rightfully called into question for dubious consent. I've always been intrigued by this scene from a narrative perspective. How unlike any BL before them KP used a rather explicit NC scene to progress not only the relationship but as an insight and progression of character. It wasn't just a titillating pay-off like other BLs but a tool used for narrative structure. This NC is imperative to propel us to the next act of the series. As I've previously commented on ep 3 I don't believe Porsche realises that he's Bisexual. As Brittany from Gaywatch points out, (another fantastic reactor I love), up until this point Porsche only accesses his queerness when he's under the influence. He's so far removed from his queer sexuality that the penny didn't drop Kinn was gay until he literally had to see it in front of him. I mean he didn't even pick up on it despite him taking Kinn's "boy" home after what's blatantly a hook up. Or doesn't pick up on Kinn's clear signals and even after remembering the kiss Porsche still questions why they would. After his chat with Pete he's constantly trying to confirm what Kinn feels for him and in doing so I believe trying to make sense of what he feels for Kinn. It's why he seeks Kinn's affirmation asking him did Tangkun discard him or did Kinn want him. Poking and teasing Kinn in the bathroom to get a "rise" out of him. Acknowledging there's something between them "here we go again" but needing for Kinn to acknowledge it too. "Just admit it". I assure you Porsche is very much attracted to Kinn. The sexual attraction and tension has been simmering for both of them I'd argue since ep 2. Both actors were so spectacular in this scene especially Mile with his micro expressions and inner monologue. I see you've been introduced to one of Thailand's top treasure, Jeff Satur. 🫠 His beauty, talent, and music make me cry. lol Then there's Vegas. My brain and heart still cannot decide what to do with him. 😁😮💨 It's nice to rewatch this again with you after so long. Some of the things you bring up are things I didn't notice the last time. Not sure why Pol wants to see Porsche's balls though. At today's exchange rate, 100 million baht is just under 3 million US dollars. I figure one baht is equal to 3 US cents and that usually gets me pretty close. Not sure I'm remembering this correctly, but I thought the production company mentioned the drug used on Porsche when it first aired. It's GBH, or liquid ecstasy, and causes the drugged person to lose their inhibitions...and some side effects are vomiting, and amnesia. It's supposed to be undetectable by taste in a drink according to Google. Lastly, it makes me sound like an Language Arts teacher, but I wanted to point out the statement of a theme of the show: when Kim is addressing the students at the Uni he says, and I'm paraphrasing, "When you really love something (somebody), how much are you willing to give up to get it?" Something to keep in the background of your mind...
