Dressed to Impress... the Wrong Person (2/2)

Jason sighed in relief as the truck rumbled to a stop outside the party. At least he made it. Now all he had to do was get inside, find Lily, and—

As he stepped out, his heel twisted, sending him stumbling forward. Before he could catch himself, strong arms wrapped around him, pulling him close. He barely had a moment to steady himself before the man’s grip shifted, his arm sliding around Jason’s waist, hand settling firmly on the small of his lower back.

"There we go," the man murmured, his breath warm against Jason’s ear. "Wouldn’t want my date tripping before we even get inside."

Jason stiffened. His date? Oh no. No, no, no.

Too embarrassed to say anything, Jason simply walked beside him, his heels clicking softly against the pavement. His heart pounded, but he kept his head down, focusing on each careful step. If he just stayed quiet, played along for now, maybe he could slip away once they were inside.

The moment they crossed the threshold, the pounding bass of the music hit him, the air thick with the scent of perfume and excitement. The party was packed, bodies moving, laughter spilling from every direction. Jason barely had time to process it before—

"Hey! Welcome!"

Lily.

She looked radiant as ever, standing near the entrance, drink in hand. And for one terrifying moment, Jason thought she recognized him. Her eyes lingered on him, her brows furrowing just slightly.

"Have we met before?" she asked, tilting her head.

Jason’s breath caught.

He could not be found out. He had to sell it.

So, with a flutter of his lashes, Jason forced a small, bashful smile. "Umm, I don’t think so?" he said, his voice light and airy. "Just checking out the party with my new boyfriend." To sell it, he hugged the man’s arm a little tighter, pressing himself delicately against his side.

The man didn’t hesitate, his grip on Jason’s waist firming as a smug grin spread across his face. "That’s right, babe."

Before Jason could react, the man pulled him in, pressing their bodies flush together. Strong hands slid beneath Jason’s ass, lifting him just enough that he was forced onto his tiptoes. He barely had a chance to steady himself in the heels before the man’s lips met his in a deep, eager kiss.

Jason's whole body locked up. His eyes widened, breath hitching as the man's lips pressed firmly against his own. He felt the warmth, the strength behind it, and—oh god—his cheeks went scarlet.

But then—movement.

Jason flicked his gaze sideways, catching Lily shifting back into the crowd, giving them space.

Oh.

His stomach flipped.

If this helped him avoid suspicion… Maybe—maybe—it was for the best.

The man finally pulled back, smirking. "Damn. You taste even sweeter than you look."

Jason barely managed a nervous giggle, trying to shake off the heat in his face. He could not think about that right now.

The rest of the night passed in a blur—dancing, playing along, letting the man’s hands guide him. By the time the party wound down, Jason was exhausted, his feet aching in the heels.

Finally, the man dropped him off at home, slipping a piece of paper into his manicured fingers. "Had a hell of a time tonight. Call me," he said with a smirk before stealing one last kiss.

Jason stood there, warmth still tingling on his lips as he watched the truck disappear, his breath unsteady and heart fluttering in his chest. His thighs, smooth and shiny under the porch light, pressed together instinctively, the lingering heat from that final kiss sending a shiver through him. He had just wanted to impress Lily, but somehow, things had taken a different turn.

He told himself it didn’t matter, that he’d forget about it by morning. Yet, without thinking, his delicate fingers tucked the slip of paper into his purse—just in case.
