Just re-watching these and it's really incredible when you think about the massive butterfly effect in this show. Ah-Duo wants a better life for Jinshi, so she arranges the baby swap -> This leads to the death of the other baby due to the honey allergy -> The swap is discovered and Luomen, Maomaos adoptive father and Lakans uncle get banished from the palace for not notcing it -> This causes Lakan to be sent away for three years, ruining Fengxians planned pregnancy -> Fengxian is forced to take on customers due to her decreased value and catches syphilis -> Fengxian goes mad and "curses" Lakan with her own finger and Maomaos pinky tip -> Eventually Luomen adopts Maomao. So even before knowing each other, Jinshi and Maomao are connected by fate in a very tragic way.

Dangers in my Hearth was just so heartwarming for me, the best romance I've seen so far. Season 1 gets better with each episode and Season 2 was sooo good, my God I cried a lot.

2024-04-24 05:49:16 +0000 UTCI disagree about solo leveling. It does power fantasy very well and is popular for a reason. Sure it doesnt have a super complex story or anything but thats not what it sets out for. The real problem is the best parts of it have yet to be animated.

2024-04-19 18:29:38 +0000 UTCIf I remember correctly she stopped watching Dangers at the crucial ep 4/5 spot where the show evolves from weird/cringy to very wholesome. Then s2 lifted it up as one of the best romcoms out there. Solo Leveling is not worth it IMO. That was all hype with not much to show for it.

2024-04-19 13:14:48 +0000 UTCIf you're ever looking for something like this, a couple years ago there was Raven of the Inner Palace. It's not as comedic, a bit more serious but it's very good and kind of got overlooked by coming out in a packed season.

2024-04-18 21:44:47 +0000 UTCI really thought nothing could top the god-tier spring 2023 line-up (Oshi no Ko, Insomniacs After School, Hell's Paradise, Heavenly Delusion, Skip and Loafer, Dangers in my Heart, Kaguya-sama movie, AoT Special 1, Konosuba: Megumin etc), but getting a full season of Frieren and Maomao at the same time might actually top that. These two shows really carried me through some rough times this winter/spring.

Notice how all the red patches on her face and skin were gone, we were seeing her from his perspective. Just like that withered flower he still views her as beautiful despite everything her physical body has been through.

Remember when Lakan explained that his uncle was a doctor who was exiled from the rear palace? Yeah, definitely him.
