Go in with an open mind and be willing to just sit back and vibe. It’s very atmospheric and not as reliant on melody. Hooks are nowhere to be seen on “Perverts”. However, it’s a beautiful project that will open up to you if you’re willing to embrace it. It’s not a bad idea to try something new that you haven’t explored before!

Fun fact: the original composer of the musical who returned to work on this film adaptation was interested in making the number Popular more contemporary, something that aligned more with Ariana Grande's music at the moment. However, Ariana put her foot down and refused to accept that idea due to being so attached to the original source material, so the number ended up being a lot more faithful to the stage production's version instead. Flaws aside, I think Ariana actually might have been the best choice for Glinda after all for this amount of dedication alone 🩷

Definitely interested in watching the movie together! The songs hit so much harder in the film. They were all sung live during filming, which makes them feel a lot more immersive than the usual movie musical format. I wish they would have given us those raw songs in the soundtrack. I believe they used the raw live vocals that are in the movie for the soundtrack but they produced them differently, digitally removing a lot of the in-world sound effects to make it sound like more of a studio album.
