I really would recommend revisiting this album. I had similar feelings about the album when I first listened but I love it now. Some backstories to some of the songs: -Talk Too Much: she had a dream that she killed her girlfriend and woke up basically panicking that it was a sign that she actually hated her gf. She’s talking about how she overthinks and takes things as a sign that she shouldn’t. -Snow Angel: she is speaking about her experience going out with some friends and her at the time boyfriend, and being drugged and then left by all of those people in a bar. She woke up with blood on her pants and no recollection of what happened:/ -Pretty Girls: This is about an experience she deals with a lot which is basically that when “straight” girls get a few drinks in their system, then they all of a sudden are flirting with her and telling her that if they were to ever kiss/sleep with a girl, then Reneé would be the one they’d do it with. It’s about the conflicting feelings Reneé feels where she is flattered but also annoyed because she feels objectified and knows that the next day they will act like nothing happened and go back to being straight. Willow: In this song she is singing to her younger self

I felt similarly the first time i listened to this album, renee's vocals are obviously STUNNING throughout, but when I revisited i FELL IN LOVEEE with it (I think it will be my most listened to thing at the end of the year). I was startled too with the track snow angel, but once i really grasped the meaning of the song and was prepared for the large production/instrumentation, it became one of my favorites!!! definitely listen and read through the lyrics, there's a lot of really juicy stuff in it!!
