I think acknowledging the fact that she had an 11 year old relationship that ended because her partner ended it will help understand this album better maybe! Try listening to the album again with Genius lyrics, she's an amazing lyricist and it could get caught up with the beat. I also agree. I think I'm tired of the themes surrounding exes on the majority of songs, as it was 5 years since CTRL & it's the same. I need my girl to grow and I don't want to be thinking about my exes even though they're relatable songs haha! Special, Too Late, & Far are my favorites! ESPECIALLY FAR, my favorite song. Lyrically and sonically, it is just so GOOD! I'm so glad you liked them.

Definitely a more industrial, kinda rock vibe since it was produced by an 80s industrial band called Nine Inch Nails.
