M69 Flak Jacket - highpoly

- I underestimated how involved I'd have to get making this asset. This was supposed to be a faster thing, but I never actually closely examined it when I put it up for voting. It was only after the poll was over and I started gathering references and looking more closely at it, I realized what I got myself into lol.

- The real thing has this reverse stitching (I dunno what's called, thing at the edges lol) all across the model. Might seem like a small detail but just accommodating that single thing caused me to alter the way I'd usually model things and slowed me down about a day or two :(. Normally I don't really have to care much about edges, they get folded in, or I can fake things easily, but here it was kinda in your face and affects how the whole thing looks greatly. Since this is a poll item and I usually give more attention to those assets, I decided to replicate it as it would be on the real thing rather than fake it.

- Not only that but thanks to the fact that this is open and the body I model with has a big chest that pushes the whole thing forward means a lot of the underside is very much visible and I can't "cheat" there either. Not really a lot of "fun" when you have to deal with that as well. The underside I did in fact kinda gloss over, I simply don't have the patience to detail that, even stitches are missing in most places except the more visible areas at the collar.  Overall, this is a pretty complex model and I probably wouldn't have submitted it for voting in that particular poll, if I knew it beforehand hahah.

- Still, I'd say the whole model is decently accurate to the real thing. There are some things missing, glossed over or changed in the interest of time but the main details are there. The only bigger more important thing that I never figured out and somewhat bothers me was some sort fold that happens on the upper shoulder part. I wasn't really sure what was going on there since I couldn't find images and it's not like I have the real thing in my hands to check, so left it more basic. Should be fine unless you're some military supply expert that can spot that :)

- Also keep in mind that the first textured looking render is the same model as the grey renders, not a finished lowpoly model nor how the final thing is going to turn out. I just threw some quick tiling textures on it to give it more "oomph" and visualize how the final thing might look. Next on the list is said lowpoly game model which will again be troublesome thanks to that edge, the numerous deep folds the highpoly has and the double sides. I don't really want to "destroy" this model and bake it down to a flat lowpoly, it looks cool, but I might ... I guess we'll see. Fortunately, that's the last harder step for this one, other things like mapping/texturing should be a breeze.

I don't recall many SAP's at a range closer than 1 foot away. But you are the expert.
