Take this scenario: you grab a bottle of Sprite that has been sitting for three days. You know this, but you’re thirsty and want something to drink right now. You don’t have the time or desire to get fresh water. So, you think to yourself...click...Sprite has preservatives, right? It probably hasn’t gone bad.

Have you ever asked yourself if we often overlook these small details? One reason we might prefer products with preservatives isn’t just the taste—because they all taste pretty much the same nowadays. Maybe it’s because it gives us a sense of danger, like saying, "I’d like to live dangerously," just like Austin Powers. Sometimes, it’s these small, seemingly trivial things that make life fun.
