Oh So Hero! Act 1 Release Announcement

Oh So Hero! Act 1 releases 5/23/25 on Steam and itch.io for $9.99 USD!

The completed first act will be available for purchase on May 23rd, 2025 at 5:00 pm CDT (World Turtle Day).

Let's break down some of the details and differences between the stores.

Steam builds will have achievements, but are PC/Mac/Linux only, and unavailable in some regions like Germany.

itch.io builds will be available for Android in addition to PC/Mac/Linux, but will not have achievement support initially.

This is all in addition to the pros and cons of each platform in general. Do your research and choose as you wish!

Patrons will continue to get all builds of Oh So Hero!

Game Updates

Steam and itch.io will continue to get important bug fixes, additional languages, and select quality of life improvements for Act 1. These will come free with your one-time purchase.

Patron builds will also get these, in addition to new features for the development of Act 2! Of course, you will need to remain a patron at the appropriate tier to continue receiving updates.

Act 2 will be developed as an expansion (DLC) which will be purchasable at a later date.

Steam Keys

Valve has a limit on the number of Steam keys we can get, and even though it's a large number, it is still not possible to give one to everyone who has supported us. It's wonderful that we have so much support from you all, but we are tasked with deciding who can get these keys. Thus we will prioritize those with the highest lifetime pledge (that's total money sent to us ever, across Patreon, SubscribeStar, and other platforms such as Ko-fi).

We still need to determine the logistics of how to deliver the keys to each of you individually, so we'll be updating you and let you know the status of the keys before the release date approaches.

Patreon Upgrade

Starting next month, we will be providing additional tiers and rewards for patrons!

Patreon will get a returning $5 tier for PC/Mac/Linux only (no Android). The $7 tier will continue to get builds for all platforms, including Android. Patrons will also have access to monthly Comic updates at some tiers (they will need to access this through Discord for the time being).

SubscribeStar will get new tiers offering game rewards! If you're unable to pledge with Patreon, this can be used as an alternative, and you will also get the Comic in post form as usual.

We'll be providing more details before the month is over!
