This week I had a few days off at my day-job so I managed to get a lot of things done.
I’m really happy to announce that, due to all of your amazing support, I was able to hire a writer to help me create lots of content for Chapter Two - enabling me to focus purely on the programming and art sides of the game. His name is Visi. He’s already created some of the events you see in the game now and moving forward he’ll be part of the monthly budget. He is also often online in the discord channel if you want to talk to him directly and learn more about him.
The big change is the Patreon page itself. The overview of the page was reworked to fit the current state of the game. I also changed the 20$ tier reward - since no one seemed to care for it - to a new 25$ tier where you can request a render image to be added to the game.
I also worked on a ton of concepts for Chapter Two and finished my roadmap for version 17. My goal for the next version is mainly to release some features that I know will need further balancing and fine tuning so I can get feedback on them as early as possible.
One change coming in Version 17 is the addition of your citizens as a resource. You’ll now start with a number of citizens that denote the population of your tribe. This will slowly grow over time as you expand your territory and naturally progress. It’ll go hand-in-hand with a change to the economy, since most of your gold income will be from your citizens paying taxes, instead of buildings that provide a static amount of gold.
The other big change I want to add in Version 17 is to territory on which you can create buildings. Instead of building them anywhere on the map, buildings will be restricted to certain areas around your capital and outposts – something that I’ll go into more detail about in future updates.
I hope you’re all looking forward to the changes as much as I am and, as always, I would be happy to hear your feedback.
