Open to Event Submissions

Hey Everyone!

I want to start this post by saying thank you to all the people who’ve been giving me regular feedback on XXXivilization. As a solo developer, it can be difficult to really understand which areas I need to prioritize and focus on improving to make the overall experience better for the majority of players. The more feedback I receive, the better and more confidently I can plan my development schedule. Recently I’ve been getting more feedback than ever before. I really appreciate it and hope the reviews, comments and suggestions continue flowing in.  

On that note, one of the biggest items people have pointed out is that the number of events in the game feels a bit lacking – that there’s not as much variety as you’d like to see. In Discord,  two fans named “^3 8 ^7 ^3” and “Necroscourge” pointed that fans may be willing to contribute events and that Fenoxo actually gets a lot of his events directly from his community. After giving it some thought, I believe XXXivilization can work on a similar level – giving fans greater content input and hopefully ramping up the number of events in the game at a quicker pace than what I can do on my own. 

Some Limitations

Of course, I’ll have to approve any and all content/writing before I implement it into the game. I want to be very careful when it comes to quality control and making sure all events fit into the realm and overall feel of XXXivilization. I don’t want to go too open source like Slave Maker.  

Also, these events need to be kept fairly simple. I’m primarily looking for short random events that can be implemented quickly.  

Credit and How to Submit

Anyone who submits event content that is implemented into the game will of course receive credit for their work in-game – either in the credits or a short by-line that appears when a player happens across the event. (I haven’t decided exactly how I’m going to do it yet.)

For now, I’ll be accepting submissions via Discord message and email at xxxivilization@gmail.com. In the next couple of weeks I plan to create a submission web page for events and will update you all when it’s up and running.
