Ahhh Lan Zhan, my best boy😆 his motto now is “Happy wife, happy life”, if his husband Wei Ying wants to eat lotus seeds, he’s getting lotus seeds. Wei Ying has unfortunately always been oblivious and doesn’t get it, when people are actually serious about their feelings towards him. And then there’s Wen Ning, always the third wheel. He has to witness them being all lovey dovey but never actually confess🤦🏻♀️

He's been with Wei Ying through so much, always protecting him, and even though he's so shy and meek, he completely transformed and stood up for Wei Ying without faltering even for a second. You really shouldn't mess with his brother without expecting some consequences, because let's be real, at this point Wen Ning is basically WWX's best friend and brother more than Jiang Cheng could ever hope to be. He's so precious and loyal, WEN NING BEST BOI 🫶❤️🔥❤️🥹 (Fun fact: a Chinese wedding tradition is for the couple to perform three bows; one to the ancestors, one to their parents, and one to each other. Lan Zhan and Wei Ying bowed before both the Jiang clan's ancestors and Wei Ying's adoptive family. Now, they only need to bow to each other and they're basically married, just like in the novel! That's definitely a reference that managed to slip under the censorship radar 😁
