Installing Octane Render Engine for Blender

Hello everyone,

One of my most requested asks is about how to install and use Octane for Blender. Here is a step by step guide as to how one can install Octane (on Windows) !

PS: I'm using OctaneServer_Prime_2020.2.5_23.11_stable in all of my videos which is compatible to Blender 2.93.2 I know this is an old version so I  will be uploading the .exe for it below.

OTOY's OctaneRender for Blender Installation Guide can be found here

1- Sign Up for an OTOY Account

2- After signing up and confirming your account, head over to this link

3- Now we will need to download both OctaneServer® Prime and Blender OctaneRender® edition (install OctaneServer first, and then install Blender Octane Edition)

4- With each installer, follow the prompts to install OctaneServer first, and then the matching version of Blender Octane Edition.

5- Run OctaneServer first. If prompted, provide your Account credentials for your OTOY Account in the Sign In Page when it opens.

6- Open Blender Octane Edition. OctaneServer will not work correctly with any other version of Blender Octane Edition, aside from the version directly matched to it.

Setting the OctaneRender Engine in Blender Octane Edition

1- Open Blender Octane Edition. Navigate to Edit > Preferences..., and in the Blender Preferences interface, find OctaneRender Engine under the Add-ons tab. If it is not ticked already, tick the checkbox for the OctaneRender option

2- Finally, under Render Properties, make sure that the Render Engine dropdown is set to "Octane"

All done! Thank you all for supporting me :)

So I followed all the steps from another video but now I have an older version of blender, 4.1 but I don’t have daz3d on this version. Do I need to do the whole download process of daz 3d again for this blender version?

Hey ! Thank you for all your content :) Can I ask you what are de reasons why you use Octane instead of Cycles ? I'm totally new with Octane so I'm trying to understand.
