Here's some progress on that YCH I auctioned off.
I'm spending the rest of my 3-day-weekend on some of the more intense animation (less dependent on tweens, more emphasis on individual frames) but for now here's him idling/doing some very heavy breathing :o
One of the important things to hammer out early on with flash animation is making sure the character model/layer set up works and makes sense with what you're intending to do with it—i.e. so that the pieces don't break off or start doing something they shouldn't, which... they usually do, again and again until you iron it out a little more. It may not look like it at first since he's not doing much in this loop and it's subtle, but the face is pretty versatile. In other words the first challenge is piecing together a picture into a puppet. This character consists of over 50 pieces/layers and rising. I've tried some of this before so it's not really a new concept, but this project does involve trying new things WITH it. So far it's working \Óvò/
More later! Back to bed hopefully x.x;
