Here are the villains- the leader being the first person on the far left ^^)!! I'll Update this post at a later time with more information about these folks another time. (Along with adding in some of the concept art. Currently three of them are still missing their names.)
From left to right here is info on the villains (as of 4/23) along with that I am in this order adding in their initial designs.
- First off there is "The Witch of Pride. Aurelia". She is the leader of the horsemen- the rest of the group being named each after a horsemen of the apocalypse. A witch being a member of a coven of women who are basically the top of all mages within the world. Each member of the coven is named after a sin that relates to their form of immortality. Their main goal is to help progress the field of magic from the shadows and also find ways to make themselves immortal. The coven does have rules, one of them being none of their members are allowed to rule kingdoms. Pride, wanting to fulfill her research in making herself a true human, kicks off the plot by trying to marry a prince (who happens to be the fiancé of the main girl from the protags, Velvet.) Fun fact- I finalized Aurelia's design after I finally finalized Death's and made her based on a barn owl because of the legend of La Lechuza.
- Second is the main brawler of the horsemen and the third member (sorry I hadn't ordered the height chart in order lol that is on me) as of now he has no name but the codename me and my partner are using is Horyu. He is the Horsemen of Famine.
- Third is the first Horsemen, he also currently doesn't have a name. He is the Horsemen of War, and he acts as the main advisor to Aurelia. He is intentionally made to look the most “normal” due to his true motives huehuehue~
- Fourth in the order of the height chart, but the newest and fourth member of the Horsemen is the Horsemen of Death (currently no name). She is a necromancer and leader of a mafia gang. Along with that she hides her illegal use of necromancy as her "funeral parlor" business. She was the most- difficult of the horsemen to design since she was the last in the order, and the first to be defeated by the heroes. Her creation was so frustrating me and my partner were even debating removing her all together. BUT, after some long lore talk and my partner having the crazy idea of making her clothing more Hispanic / Latin American themed. My brain blasted and I was glued to my desk wanting to get my idea down on paper. She is heavily based off of Dias de Muertos, Mariachi players, Vaqueros of the old west, and a little of
- OK TIME FOR THE LAST ONE. . . my beloved- RAT- Nisha the Horsemen of Pestilence. She was originally a dnd character I had made for a one shot that I fell in love with- the concept of a mouse girl being so desperate to be beautiful that she turned into a nazgul is so cool to me. She is a very chaotic jester to Pride and the second one to be recruited into her ranks. She truly is the most loyal to Pride and the most deadly in terms of personality. Also she has a sick bone collection :) don’t ask where she got them. . . A lady never reveals her secrets so soon.
- Fun design notes:
Aurelia is based on La Lechuza and thus is a Demi-Human barn owl woman. In a world of mostly furry people, Demi-Humans are a rare breed of people that have more human features. For example, if Aurelia was closer to the members of her group, as a bird person she'd have a more conventional bird face, wings, and bird legs.
Death (the blue Mariachi fish woman) was the most difficult character to design. She took about a week and a half to realize a final idea for. Especially due to her position in the plot of being the last member of the group, and being the first to meet and be defeated by the protagonists.
