Added 2020-05-21 09:04:47 +0000 UTCThe good news! We finally fully switched to the HDRP (High Definition Render Pipeline)! What does it mean? Well, did you saw the "Heretic" demo movie? That's the technology behind it. Of course, we couldn't push sooo far (NF3D is a small indie game, not a movie production), but it opens a much more possibilities for future improvements and overall quality in shading and animation.
Not so good news - HDRP technology is quite new, complex, and poorly documented. It requires a lot of work to squeeze a REAL quality from it. But I don't want to spend too much time on rendering while we don't have a working GAME engine, so I'm switching back on mathematics and code, leaving the rendering to the second place in a queue. Nevertheless, the upcoming monthly demo build with "Work In Progress" will be already an HDRP build.
