With regard to Donald giving "Bubba" a blowjob, Donald absolutely does seem like the type to do something he doesn't want to merely to impress someone he sees as powerful and looks up to. He's like the kid who's so desperate to please his peers he takes all the crazy or gross dares thinking it earns him respect. He's paying it forward now, just like many who suffer that kind of abuse do.

In the past 5 years, one would expect she's had to grow up at least a little bit, what with her testimony and many other public fiascos, and just dealing with the reality of being the dog that caught the car. However, growing up is incompatible with her electoral appeal. The assassination of Charlie Kirk then, even if it had zero effect on her actual views, provides her with a convenient story to launder a move towards a more moderate position without seeming like she's betraying her base, because her whole base can come along with the same excuse. It's not that "we realized this QAnon thing is dumb as shit", is "in the wake of Kirks martyrdom we realized we needed to do better".
