The Olympics Are Kinda Bad, Actually – EARLY ACCESS, AD-FREE, AND UNCENSORED

Hi. This week, we're looking at the Olympic Games, how they never bring the expected benefits to host cities, how they're mired in corruption, and what we could do to fix them.
Ever since I saw the first TV broadcast I've always wondered how Hitler hosted the Olympics. It always threw up red flags for me. Like wtf?!

The merchant class has a habit of ruining everything natural and human by its constant desire to monetize everything.

The olympics suck for the locals, for the state, for the city, but the ideal is worth it. It's not a ideal that can Control the things you said its not fighting for. It can't stop world hunger, homelessness, human rights, but it can help spread the idea that we can compete equally. It can grow from being something that was supported by an evil 100 years ago, and be better today than it was before.
Yeah the corruption sucks, the stain it leaves sucks, the racists you talked about (from 70 years ago) sucks. It's a sporting event, its about showing that your guy can compete against their guy, and not Need a war.

Vancouver and Calgary made money for the cities. Guess anglophone Canadians are the only ones who can pull that off.

Psyched that you and Robert dropped two anti-Olympics pieces on the same day; genuinely the kind of energy and coordination I like to see in my news media
