I must chime in to say that I am in fact impressed with Cody's script-reading abilities every single week. Seriously I think I only notice you're even using a script like once or twice, briefly, each episode. The rest of the time it's so fluid and natural that it's invisible. You're a pro Cody! a Prody!!

As a Canadian I sometimes find it hard to understand why the US clings to a two party system without an independent election body to oversee everything. I frequently discuss with friends how there are only two electable parties for leadership here, but the two other main parties around (I guess three now, but not important to this) means we probably have minority governments from now to the end of our parliamentary system. Having the independent electoral body which controls the area covered by each riding not answer to the government of the day has also helped keep things in line just seems natural to me. I grant I'm not a student of American history or anything, maybe there's a good reason to keep the republic as status quo. I just don't see it from here.

Reminder that POTUS is not elected nationwide, but state-by-state through the Electoral College. So, whether or not you need to vote Biden to stop Trump depends on which state you live in. For example, where I live, in California - with the largest Electoral College delegation of any state - Trump lost by a 2:1 margin the last two times - slightly under in 2016, and well over in 2020. So, in California, it is *mathematically impossible* to throw the election to Trump. In California, it makes *no sense* to vote "lesser evil". In California, if you want your vote to count for anything, statistically, you *need* to vote "third party"; your vote for the Democratic candidate here is spitting in the ocean, while your vote for the Peace and Freedom or Green candidate actually moves the needle. Check your state's election results from 2016 and 2020 to see whether "lesser evil" is really a thing, or whether your state is safe.

I don't think I can watch those debate, just thinking about Dana Bash moderation, her bad faith questions about antisemitism in college campuses, and Biden buying in into that, just thinking about this show makes me sick.

Am I the only one that thought Katie Willert was the guest for a second?

Great professional execution, you guys! I really need to start a blog, but I guess this will do for now... 1) see, what I don't understand about Biden is this. Does he not understand that more than anything, Americans like projecting strength? Does he not understand that getting cucked by Netanyahu repeatedly, on international stage with a massive spotlight on him, just makes him look pathetic? That every time he draws a red line (in crayon, apparently), Bibi flexes his muscle in HIS OWN U.S. CONGRESS and then gets what he wants? Does Biden not see that Netanyahu is actively helping Trump win, because Donald "bomb the shit out of them" Trump will hand-deliver the bombs to Israel if he so commands? So then why continue to cower in fear? Why take the weakest possible stance only to be pushed over in a week? Why attack the young voters and condone police brutality against the humanist position? And if it is true that it doesn't matter because the voters will realize Trump is worse, if it won't make people stay home on election day (which is the thing Biden should be most scared of), if no matter what happens he will win anyway - wouldn't he want to do the right thing and spare some children's lives? 2) Maher's turn is just so sad, especially because his show and his books turned me into the "radical leftist" that I am today. I mean he once, jokingly, said that the China executing a couple of greedy CEOs (who added addictive substances into milk for profit) is not a bad idea. In his "New Rule", so not an afterthought or a stumble or anything.

No audience means I'll feel less bad if a hero decides to rescue us by doing a cool scene from a movie on the debate building. Just saying.
