Revisiting Some News: Why Is Critical Race Theory? - EARS ONLY
Added 2024-05-01 15:00:17 +0000 UTCHi. This is a re-release of the audio of our August 2021 episode, "Why Is Critical Race Theory?" It's got a new introduction from Cody, who explains how CRT fits into the current timeline of weird, racist conservative outrages. The script was written by Will Gordh with David Christopher Bell. We'll be back next week with an all-new episode of Some More News.

But yes, I agree, revisiting the old stuff (besides being entertaining) has merit on its own for a variety of reasons, and one of them is definitely that many things just haven't changed all that much.

2024-05-01 21:03:19 +0000 UTCMay I laugh at the Reek-quil commentary? "frozen empire" like saying the "ghost of racism" is a subtle kind of funny

2024-05-01 17:49:45 +0000 UTCI'm glad we'r revisiting old episodes, not only with the benefit of a new intro, but also as a way of reminding ourselves that these right-wing regressive attacks are ongoing, yet they just aren't changing. It's inoculation.

2024-05-01 17:48:18 +0000 UTCI like the new intros, they remind me how much I used to enjoy the commentary tracks that used to be included with physical media releases. It's not a 1-1 comparison but it's the closest thing I've seen in the new media ecosystem
