i honestly never heard of his books before and i dont really have an interest... but since you brought this up i went and did some googling https://jasonpargin.substack.com/p/i-was-david-wong is that not enough adressing the pseudonym for you? and good grief...its a name... those things travel quite a bit for example if jason married someone with an asian sounding name and they decided to go with her last name for the family... that would not change anything about him or his ethnicity... but that would be his actual name heck if i play a TTRPG, im not doing orcface just because im deciding to play an orc character...

Militarism, colonialism, capitalism, racism, etc are all the same ideology because they reinforce each other in both theoretical and practical ways; and if "the Left" means anything, it means the group of people who are opposed to that. However many of us oppose some aspects of that ideology and support others because of the powerful propaganda that we grew up with

2023-11-19 13:32:36 +0000 UTCCan y'all stop bringing Pargin on your podcasts until at he at least makes an overture to address how it was maybe kinda fucked up to low key do yellowface by writing under the name David Wong for so long? I know his fans don't care and that attempts to bring this up as a problem are likely to get shouted down by the peanut gallery, but it makes y'all look bad by association, and at this point in his career he needs y'all letting him promote his books more than you need him.

2023-11-18 03:39:47 +0000 UTCNational check your wipers day. First, they were invented by a woman but a man got the credit. Second, one night after hosting karaoke in Maine, my car was covered with snow due to the storm. I wiped off my windshield before driving off, but the snow was coming down so fast and heavy, it broke my wipers motor and they stopped working. I had my cousin with me, so I gave him my right glove, I wore my left glove, and attached bungee cords to the wipers and thread them through each slightly open window. I then drove my manual transmission car in a snow storm while my cousin and I alternated pulling on the bungee cord through our windows, and that cleared about 10 inches from the bottom of my windshield. It took an hour to get us each home, three times longer than usual, but we got there. Lol

2023-11-17 20:29:02 +0000 UTCThere are journalists on the ground. Palestinian journalists (those who haven't been killed yet). Some of them even posted on Twitter & Instagram (before the telecommunication blackout). Democracy Now! reports accuratly from the US, Al Jazeera English live update page relays words from some journalists on the ground, as well as what the Israeli governement & what Hamas say, with notations on whether evidence is provided to back their claims. Twitter is not a primary source (for the most part) & it's on us to stop using it that way, it's not working.
