Brand Awareness, Auto Workers, and EVEN MORE White Shreks - EARS ONLY - AD FREE

Hi. Katy, Cody, and Jonathan are IN STUDIO today to talk about the allegations against Russell Brand, the peculiar defense of him from the usual suspects, the striking auto workers, and the hoops you have to jump through to believe in a John Fetterman doppelgänger.

Note: Some of our voices echo a bit in parts of this episode. It's us, not you. Pretend you're listening to the podcast in a canyon. Enjoy!

I think a lot of women in today's society are trained to believe they have to make men happy before they can think about themselves or anyone else and when men consistently get away with saying oh she's lying she's just she's just trying to ruin my reputation these damn women. I think a lot of these women are raised in environment where they're taught that people are not victims if anything bad happens to him they bring it on themselves so when they see people being having been victimized they immediately assume it's some sort of a scam because that's how they were taught to look at it. I'm not defending it, because they're also the ones to fall apart the hardest when something happens in their life and that's why you see so much abuse and horrible shit that goes on and that repressed ass environment

I've listened to about a million podcasts in canyons. All kinds of podcasts, all kinds of canyons. But this was the best podcast, despite the mediocrity of the canyon I happened to be listening in. And I never lie.

I'm loving the more pro union pro labor sentiment that's been growing recently. I work for UPS and we've had crappy contracts the last few cycles because it's been so long since we voted yes on a possible strike. For decades in this country there's been so much successful anti union fear mongering by corporations that people are afraid to join unions and afraid to do things like go on strike, not realizing that even just the threat of a strike, especially in a company like UPS that can't afford to stop production, is enough. We have no bargaining power without the threat of a strike. And finally it seems people are seeing through the fear-mongering and propaganda that we have power through collective bargaining. Our new contract is badass and there's no way we would have gotten that if we would have voted no on the strike. And I understand why it scares people, it's scary to think we might not have work and income but without taking any risks we have no power. It also makes me think of my first job at Target when I was 17 and the anti-union propaganda videos they showed us during orientation. I was scared of unions when I was younger too. My husband is still not interested in joining a union, he's an electrician, but I'm working on him lol.

Well actually, the age of consent was much lower in the Roman Empire

"We should put that on a t-shirt" on a t-shirt. Brilliant. Excellent.

I feel like you've lost the argument if you have to bring up age of consent laws
