Infrastructure Weak! - EARLY RELEASE, AD-FREE, and UNCENSORED

Hi. Here is our episode on infrastructure, infrastructure bills, and Infrastructure Week! And not climate change. Nope, this episode is totally not about climate change.

Infrastructure Weak! - EARLY RELEASE, AD-FREE, and UNCENSORED

Two things could be done now to address climate change that wouldn't be as radical as replacing every single motor vehicle or adding the thousands of square miles of solar panels we'd need to replace our coal or natural gas powerplants. 1. Develop small modular reactors - preferably molten salt, thorium fueled. (No waste issues and no safety issues -at least compared to older nuclear power) 2. Use that nuclear power to make liquid fuel from the carbonic acid (i.e. Carbon) in the ocean and use use electricity from those powerplants to get hydrogen from that seawater. You can MAKE carbon neutral fuel and distribute it using our EXISTING infrastructure. It takes maybe 3 years to build a reactor for a navy carrier or submarine so this shouldn't take longer than that. The issue is getting the power, the fuel stuff is just chemistry. We could do all this now, it's just less expensive to use oil instead... So subsidize THIS instead of oil and you wouldn't have to worry about making so many batteries or replacing so many cars, etc... The problem is really all about how we store energy and where that energy we're storing comes from.
