I went to school with Mati. He was from Afghanistan. He told me about what it was like for his parents during the Cold War and Russia and US getting involved. But through their eyes. And what the βwar on terrorβ was like for my friend and his loved ones. His father was a Dr and was able to seek asylum in the US and bring his family with him. It is crazy how pragmatic and different people here are taught about Afghanistan. And hearing about what it was like from actual people that lived through it. Very different. But for the US. It is always about someone making more money. And the richest people make it through bombing poor, brown countries. Actual aid never crosses our minds. Giving the people opportunities and empowering them is never considered. Just being an occupying force. I just hope that at some point the younger generations will evolve to not immediately want to bomb countries for our own gain. But humanity sucks. So π€·πΌββοΈ
