I really hope the effects of vaccine apartheid don't lead to more wars?We should all know that Bidens foriegn policy has been horrible and it's barely better than Trumps if not worse. Capitalist enterprises are planning on using the virus with manufacturing consent on the left and the right. Following the money is f***ed up. Lets not forget about Blackrocks influence in pretending to care about the climate all of a sudden after funding the Oil companies that have done all of the critical damage to the environment. This is becoming it's own large global force. The richest with all the vaccine supply. That can lead to some truly dangerous territories and the defense contracters are in the mix. Not trying to be synical. That's the impression I get out of the agenda. Farmlands and various sites are being stripped away in multiple countries and these are paid coups that buy the land and "Human Capital" from dictatorships because it's cheaper. Less labor cost and less freedom for the working class means more profit. So basically corperations are colonizing the world just like the good ole days. Truly horrible human rights violations that are being covered up. Create division so you can profit and take while giving less back with a life saving product. That's f***ed up.

2021-05-01 17:05:15 +0000 UTCI still have weeks to go before I'm fully vaccinated, but I absolutely worry about the same thing. I think the trick is just to remember the masks were never for yourself anyway, they were to protect others, and you're still doing that by staying masked until we know the vaccination rates in the area are starting to hit comfortable levels. It'll become much, much easier with time, I'm sure, but I plan on continuing to wear mine while exercising around the neighborhood for at least a few weeks to a month after I'm fully vaccinated, just to allow others to catch up without wondering if I'm just being an asshole (though, thankfully anti-maskers were always a rarity in urban/suburban SF Bay Area). Seems like a small price to pay for everyone's peace of mind, though the first time I can tackle a big hill again without feeling like I'm gonna faint will be glorious. I can't wait.

2021-04-30 05:55:17 +0000 UTCI’m curious if anyone else is discovering any weird hang-ups as we go back to ersatz normal.. as of yesterday I’m fully vaccinated, but when I’m around people outside I worry I’m making them uncomfortable and end up pulling my mask back up anyway. Excited to shed that particular neurosis, LA is too god damn hot to subject myself to gentle but needless torture.
