That's terrific!!!! I'm really happy for you and your mom. I hope the surgery is successful and she has a long and happy life.

2020-05-20 00:38:02 +0000 UTCI know this is old but I got the best news possible and I don’t have anyone to tell: in January my mom was diagnosed with a lung condition whose only treatment is a complete heart-lung transplant that she wasn’t a candidate for due to other health issues. Without treatment it’s a terminal disease with a life expectancy of 3 years maximum. She had a heart scan recently — she wanted to cancel because she’s terrified of getting COVID, but her doctor convinced her to get it done. A week later she got a call from the top specialist in North America on her condition who told her that in his opinion, SHE WAS MISDIAGNOSED. The condition she actually has is still serious and requires heart surgery, but it’s a surgery that is performed regularly and is quite safe. With treatment she will have a normal life expectancy. I’m 25 and I’ve spent the last six months trying to acclimate myself to the idea that I was gonna lose my mom in my mid-twenties. Now she’s gonna live to see me have children and get my doctorate. I’m so so happy.
