Happy to see you react to this. Big TMNT fan. To answer some questions, the 2003 series is more based on the OG Turtles comics from the 1980’s which were darker stories so a lot of elements from the original comics are adapted here like how the Turtles meet April & the introduction of Casey Jones & how Raphael met him. Other elements like April being a reporter was invented in the first TMNT cartoon in 1987 which became how she’s depicted in later versions. A lot of elements that people who were familiar about the Turtles like the classic theme song, their personalities and some of their rogues gallery were introduced from the 87 cartoon.
