Cat's tend to like me. but some are just jerks even if you raise them completely right. My aunt had a a cat named Mister. he was an a hole cat, he'd come up to your hand wanting to be pet then suddenly hiss and bite you when you never moved your hand. I'm actually one of the few people he liked whenever I came around he'd come out and actually want to be pet by me, he'd false swat at me sometimes (slap at you without claws.) that was about the worst I ever got from him. I'd pet him a few times he's hiss and I I let it go and walked away. He died at around 17 years of age. Some cats are just a holes.
