2021-06-26 04:24:14 +0000 UTCOh the whole animation is for only for kids thing was basically a1980s and 1990s idea. The Flintstones was a huge hit with adults when it came out. Same thing with Looney Tunes and the like, it was just baby boomers who thought animation was only for kids, they really screwed up on a lot of stuff. Went from the greatest generation to the worst generation.

And unlike 99% of anime movies that are blatant cash in on a show's popularity, this is Canon. It covers the events from Manga chapters 54-66. Edit: after the movie, we're about 1/4th of the way through the series. It's also a really good example disproving that old lie of "animation is for kids" and Adult animation can do more that raunchy humor and soft core porn.
