2020-05-02 06:40:19 +0000 UTCGood Omens was something I had been waiting literally almost 20 years for, I remember all the times it was in the works as a movie at one point with Terry Gilliam of Monty Python fame set to direct it before it landed in development hell. Fortunately the series lives up to the book, which is a great read cowritten by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchet, two of my favorite authors. The sad part is though that Sir Terry died before this series went into production, he would have liked how it turned out I imagine. While I'll say Neil Gaiman is probably the most well known of the two authors in the US Sir Terry is a great author and well loved in the UK, having been knighted is proof of that, and is best known for his series of books Discworld, which if you like the style of comedy in the show you should definitely check out though it can seem daunting as it's a 47 book series most of the books can be read in any order without losing too much as it's not a particularly sequential series though you will have characters that make appearances in multiple books. Sorry to have gushed on, but it's not everyday an adaptation of a book you've waited so long for comes out and actually lives up to your hopes.
