Episode 7 | Sprite Planning

Our planning for Episode 7 is underway, and we're excited to bring you sneak peeks of our work as we go along! Today we're going to be showing you the sprite list from our episode overview.

This is a list that is given to Deli (our Sprite/CG Artist) in order for her to prepare the new sprites for the episode. She is given a rough overview of the characters, how they should look, what they might wear, but apart from that, the rest of the design details are completely up to her.

Here are our sprite plans for Episode 7, including links to some of our inspiration posts (these make it much easier for the artists to get an idea of the characters).

Sprites

New Character – KY-L3

KY-L3 is a robot with a masculine presenting body. As a VTB (Vantage Tactical Bot) K was built as a war machine, and so has armour to match. He can be covered by some kind of cloak and/or hood if that makes it easier to draw his sprite. Within his armour he has trailing lights – the lights in his eyes are light blue/white when he is passive, and his eyes and body lights are red when he is angry/engaged. Since he is a robot his face doesn’t show any emotion, so we only need two versions of his sprite.

Height is 6’5/196cm

Neutral (light blue/white lights for his eyes, no other lights)
Angry (red lights for his eyes, red lights throughout body)

New Character – Third rebellion leader – Deli to create

The only requirement is they are a leader of the rebellion alongside Nerissa and KY-L3. They can be any gender and species and come from any planet.

Existing Characters

ALL LI’s in underwear – the guys can be shirtless, the girls should be wearing a bra or camisole (since the main game is 17+ we can’t have full nudity)

Flustered Cal (not angry or too surprised, more like he’s been caught off-guard and doesn’t know how to act)
Hopeless Cal (along the same lines as his sad sprite but showing more emotion, no tears though)
Blush Cal (similar to the other blush we have except smiling/soft instead of angry)

Nerissa Angry (amped up version of her annoyed sprite, think her arguing in a council meeting)
Nerissa Sad (this is like a regretful sad, think “I’m sorry MC that I didn’t tell you anything about the secret coup I was planning" lol)
