Added 2024-03-27 14:43:59 +0000 UTCcurrently im in the process of shifting where my content in located. it might take awhile but im hoping it pans out because honestly if my stuff keeps getting stolen Ive already made to decision to quit. I see no point in making a living off comics if people think it right to re upload my work
so to the people that are importing my uploads, you'll single handedly be the reason I stop making the content you feel you have the right to redistribute. seeing as you already have no moral compass i doubt it will matter so..i give my career..6 more months before i crash and burn XD
its been fun, i hope thats not what happens but ive already promised myself id either end my career than have people step on me

Just to say that if you had to make a choice to maintain your ability to support yourself, go for it. If the rest of us are lucky, we'll get to see your work without your financial stability at risk. Your point below about the marketing value your free stuff is very true. Thought I'd add that here and not on another post.

2024-03-27 16:47:09 +0000 UTCfact of the matter is if i went back to doing commission work I would be making way more than I am atm. it has nothing to do with people reposting public content. its the people that are aware THIS PAGE is my lively hood and its being stolen from me. im very aware my comics are EEEEEEVERYwhere. it makes me smile sometimes i cant lie, but when the people who love and claim to "support" me actively make a choice to distribute paywalled content that effects this part of my business in a large way. large enough that it makes me re think what would be better long turn financially. and in a world where money and being respected is priority, I need to consider my options

HERE. but its becoming taxing (mentally) knowing how little control i have over my own piece most the time. its not easy dealing with the entirety of the internet as one person haha

Im not a greedy person, however its angering to know many people thik and make a choice to view my paywalled content knowing full well im losing money because of the uploads. instead of reporting it or filing a take down, they just view it, and share it, where as I get nothing in return for my hours of work. its belittling to say the least. as if im a machine most see as worthless

2024-03-27 15:39:13 +0000 UTChm for my case...most time i see good comics floating around the web search for the artist, find the patreon and join to support and get track on the artist. its very likely i'm here for month now because i have stumbled about one of your paypwalled comic around the internet and decided you do great work. yes i don't like people stealing things and stuff but it could be also attract people to come here and support you. it would be sad if i can't support you because you decide to leave (and i will loose tract of you work because i think you really do some rare niche work i really like) :/

2024-03-27 15:18:52 +0000 UTCyes. with my art being distributed without my knowing or consent thats theft. my paywalled content and promotes the need to support me has been stolen from me. my means of income is being stolen from me which defeats the purpose of paying a percentage of my wages to a site to protect my work. thats like paying for security but they let whoever they want in without concern, im paying for security but im not getting it, so why bother

2024-03-27 15:08:24 +0000 UTCI'd migrate to support you. In regards to stopping what is basically fraud, it is a massive undertaking, believe me. The best way to counter it would be to lessen their attack vector. For example, moving the files to a more secure or access required repository is a good step in the right direction. Preventing the ability to download imagine is another option. Keeping images and comics locked to the website or domain so tou can only scroll to view. Another option I found would be to disable "right-clicking" for a website if you had your own created. This would prevent people from doing "Right click -> Save as" or "Open image in new tab". Unfortunately, none of this is particularly easy to accomplish and you can't stop all fraud but you can certainly reduce the impact by making it harder. Making it so they can't get the highest quality of work.
