He used to be a detective working against the gangsters in Chicago back in the 20βs, and he was passionate about that, but in 1926 his wife and child had an βaccidentβ in which they were driven off a bright and died. After that he lost all interest in his job and life. He eventually lost his job because he was stealing the bootleg whisky they were confiscating. Currently (after getting his life together a little) he works as a private investigator.
