Seth Chapter 86

Chapter 86

The fury moved its axe to aim for his shoulders, but it only touched air as a surge of mana burst out of Seth and his blade struck the chest of the golem, taking out a large chunk of it.

Earlier, he was only able to scratch it, but now it was different.

With the power he felt, the fury was no match for him.

The fury yelped in a painful screech, but moved its axe again. Its mechanical arms were too slow for Seth as he flickered away, appearing right on top of it and sending a kick at its face.

It stumbled back as blades conjured up around Seth. Over a dozen of them headed for the fury's core and it shot out bolts of lightning and arrows to stop their charge.

The blades simmered through the air, a few hitting the fury's attacks, but others escaped and dug themselves into its spinning core with one of them even hitting its eye.

Another grunt of pain filled the chamber as the golem flailed its arm and stomped its feet in anger.

Before it could do anything, Seth moved, using Savage Flurry to dig through the core as lightning crackled around it with each hit. The fury swung with its axe, but he sidestepped, smiling at it as his eyes shone with a purple glint.

With another wave of its blade, he left a dent on the fury's chest, noticing parts of it corroding as his mana touched it.

The fury shook him off as Seth flickered, vanishing from its sights. It turned around, its eyes looking around the chamber for the threat.

“Searching For The Intruder… Searching!” It spoke and more arrows popped out of its back with lightning crackling on their tips.

Finally, Seth reappeared on the far wall and the fury launched all its arrows at him. They moved like missiles, thrumming through the air, but none of them even touched him as he kept flickering away, wasting the fury's efforts as it stomped in annoyance again.

As Seth kept flickering throughout the room, the fury had no idea where he would appear again and just then, it turned its head to see him smiling.

The Dark Blade moved, hitting the eye orb where one of his blades had made a mark and he stabbed right into it as a scream tore through the room.

Seth twisted his blade before the hands of the fury came for him. He flickered, escaping, but a sour taste filled his mouth.

It's not enough!

Something or someone whispered in his mind.

A voice, sweet with a rageful tone, told him to destroy the fury, the one who had nearly killed his friends and given him so many injuries. Visions of Rebecca's pained face came to his mind and the pain he had been subjected to in the ruins.

Even The Divers who he had gotten close to had suffered and he didn't even know if they were alive anymore. All because of the fury.

It couldn't just be a simple death. It needed to suffer as much as he had.

This piece of mechanical stone needs to die a painful death!

Seth agreed with the voice as another surge of mana flowed through his veins. Unable to shake it off in his frenzied state, he rushed to grab at its axe.

The fury shook it off, but Seth held tight, his blades moving to cut through its fingers in an arc.

It was a tough task to cut through the stone fingers, but Seth kept at it, his abyssal mana seeping into the fingers and corroding it. He knew it was an effect of his current state and something extremely effective against the golem.

As he focused more on his mana melting away the fingers, they became loose as the fury screamed.

With a final bit of effort, three of them flew out as the axe fell on the ground.

The fury countered with lightning, but Seth rolled to escape. A bolt of lightning managed to hit him in the back and he yelped, nearly falling.

Picking himself up, he jumped out of the way as the fury tried to stomp over him. Tremors shook the chamber as Seth looked up at it.

Its eyes glimmered with a rage that wasn't there before and Seth met them with his own intensity. Holding up both of his daggers, he jumped right at it, not worrying about the axe this time.

Lightning still protected the fury, but Seth blocked it with his blades. A jolt shook his arm, but as he pushed his mana to protect his body.

Soon, it enveloped his whole body, lines of abyssal mana dancing around him to form a protective armour.

The fury roared in frustration and shot out more lightning, but this time, none of them even touched Seth.

They dissipated as soon as they came close, his mana eating it up as Seth grinned before lunging at the fury.

He held his arm in one place as his blade moved up through it and he dug deep.

The fury jerked his hand, but Seth held tight, constantly stabbing at his hand and pulling at it. Both of them were in a stalemate, but it was soon too much for Seth to hold on and stab at the same time as he was thrown off.

But before he could even touch the ground, he flickered on top of the fury, directly piercing both of his blades into the arms. Sending waves of his mana on the cuts, he noticed them corroding it as the mechanical monster lumbered forward before turning into a sprint.

It crashed into a wall as Seth jumped back just in time.

Turning around, the fury grunted in pain as Seth watched its arm fall on the floor with a heavy thud, the area around its shoulders melting away and lightning flickering through the frayed wires peeking out.

It let out another roar, but he was helpless. More arrows popped out, but they weren't enough to do anything to Seth.

He kept dodging it and conjuring up more knives to cut through the wires jutting out, annoying it more and more.

Finally deciding to end it, he rolled on the ground as an arrow struck it and charged at it.

He flickered away to its chest and used both its blades to smash into the core, yielding a blood curdling scream.

Both the blades dug into it as more lightning flew out. His whole body shook, but he didn't freeze this time and pushed his abyssal mana onto the core, battling the lightning.

Both the mana energies fought off with each other, but Seth's abyssal mana was far stronger as another wave of it burst out of him, hitting the fury's core.

The fury let out a sharp, guttural scream that was the loudest he had heard from it before it started to shake.

Seth kept stabbing into the core, using every bit of its strength to take it out as it stopped glowing and spinning.

He smashed it right into the ground as the core bursted out, sending out sharp shards all around, but he stomped into them before turning back to the fury.

After losing his energy source, it slumped onto the ground.

Common sense might have dictated him to let it go, but Seth didn't stop then, opening up the whole chest panel. Using his blades, he sliced up the wires and pulled them out before smashing all the rune stones and other materials that made up its inside.

The fury was carefully crafted, but he was going to make sure it was never able to even walk again.

His rage didn't stop for the next ten minutes as he continuously kicked at it. He only stopped as notifications popped up in front of him.

He shook off the wire that he was cutting through and paused, the notifications reminding him that his work was over.

The fury was dead and he had won the battle.

He took a step back from it, looking at them, his bubbling rage calming down. His eyes looked over at the trashed up body of the fury with its parts lying around and he slumped to the ground.

Taking deep breaths, he felt power leaving him, the mana that surged inside of him left like it was never there.

The voice in his ears vanished and it was almost like he had lost both of his arms as the abyssal mana left his body.

Like it's description, the skill took all of its mana, leaving him wincing on the ground.

His eyelids get heavy as he felt the worst mana exhaustion he had experienced, but before he could close them, another notification popped up.

You have reached Level 40. You have gotten the right to move to the next Rank. Do you want to evolve your class?

Yes/No

Staring at it, Seth hastily pressed yes before he could pass out.
