Special Delivery Development WIPs - June 2024 #1

Hey hey!

Another little WIP-drop for SD development, again sadly not a whole lot of visual stuff to show, but I will type out most of what's relevant <3

The next update will only carry the story up to the sientha dockside, and I've settled on the scene for it now. Even though it's not perfect, I'd rather keep the pace of development up than fuss over perfecting every single location :d

I've also rendered out (almost) all of Cynthia's full armour sprite library. As a character, she will have a recurring part to play in the grander plot of SD, so I'm glad I was able to put in the time necessary to make her model the most useable it can be <3

I've also thrown in a screenshot of one of the new segments, just as a little proof that the game IS being developed alongside all the 3D assets :D

This next update, v0.2.1, is going to be much wider than it is long. By that I mean it's not got a long playtime, but it does have multiple distinct scenes that are mutually exclusive from one another, and dependant on prior choices in chapter 1. Hopefully that makes up for the lack of big punchy content in this update; it's quite a read-heavy section, and mostly adding story and contextual richness <3

I know I said in the last WIP update that I was hopeful to have some NSFW stuff to post in this one, but I haven't quite got to that stuff yet :d it's the last big task for this update, and will have to go in the next WIP dump ^^ there's also been a heck of a lot of stuff I can't so easily preview visually going on. I've done a whole lot of writing, and even got a few new music tracks for the new sections <3

I'm really gunning hard to get the next update out for tier 2+3 supporters by the end of the month, though I'm not going to commit 100% to that deadline since any number of wrenches could be thrown into the works.

One last thing: I'm going to be making a large update post after v0.2.1 is released explaining a few choices I've had to make surrounding SD's future development. I'm not thrilled about it, but I'm going to be changing my ethos of SD's place in the games market sometime this year. Purely out of necessity. I will give you all the details soon <3
