4rtnightly Upd8 48: Write Stuff (& Face Reveal?!)

Hey everyone, welcome to another fortnightly update! This time i've got a bovine WIP, a sneak peak at a new side project, and a fun handful of life updates :) 

Art Stuff

First up, the poll is in full swing! I'm selfishly very happy to see Toriel winning, with my gal Mesma doing well in second place - but overall i'm glad to see a spread of votes on a fun selection of ideas :)  It's looking like my current comm will finish up in plenty of time to get cracking on the winner asap. 

Speaking of that commission, i've just now finished the flat colours on the Cow TF + WG for Redshift:

Not yet added: the milk. Hoo boy.

In other creative news, i've started writing a short story. This came out of a discussion with a friend about how I figured being a fetish author was easy and anyone could do it - and i'm happy to report that i'm 1000 words in and my ego is being rightfully trampled on. This is hard work!

The story is based on the cutesy interactions of a fox and her maid that i did the other week. And, if you're interested, here's a snippet:

Calliope stirred in her bed, reluctantly opening her eyes to greet the day. A thick wedge of light spilled in through her window, illuminating most of her room with the help of the polished wood floor it landed on. Dust motes played in the golden sunlight with an energy that the fox wished she could muster.

"Uurf, need some breakfast" she mumbled into her bedsheets, wishing words alone would summon pastries into her lap. The service bell was so close, on the wall next to her four poster bed - but she was all the way over to the other side of it. A great plain of linen stretched out to her left, a gruelling gauntlet of comfort. With an impotent grumble she began to shuffle her heavy frame across the mattress, her bushy tail lazily trailing behind.

Maybe it's gonna be garbage, but i'm hoping the cuddles and feeding and cutesiness will be fun :)  If it goes well maybe i'll try my hand at a TF story?

And one last art thing! I bought a commission, also cute imo, featuring Milton and a certain possum friend. Very self indulgent though, i'll understand if it doesn't appeal.

Life Stuff

Speaking of Milton hanging out with his friend... i'm going to see that friend IRL next month. We've got another Update between then and now so i'll maybe talk about more about then plan next time - but i'm very excited. Until then though...

So i bought a VR headset for the second time in my life. Am I in the metaverse yet? Is the metaverse exclusively Beat Saber? Who can say. I'm excited to pick up Half Life Alyx when it's next on sale but until then i'll be bashing blocks and climbing rockfaces like it was 2018 all over again. 

Here I am wearing my new Quest 2 (which is a massive quality of life upgrade over the Rift mk1). Yes it's a super hasty draw-over - is this technically a face reveal? Who can say. 

In plant news, my monstera is growing a huge new leaf - i'm very excited for that to unfurl: 

And here is why I get so angry at my painted nettle's flower spikes. Look at all those discarded petals >:( 

Check out that happy moneyplant next to it tho! It's asking for a repotting.
