Fortnightly Update 3: New Year, New Projects!
Added 2021-01-09 17:00:04 +0000 UTCBelated Happy New Year everyone :) Hope everyone's safe and well - 2021 is gonna be a better year, I can feel it. And through whatever's coming, i'm gonna be trying to keep up the good vibes with my art output...
Speaking of - we've got three days left on the second Monthly Poll and 5/6 of you have voted. It's looking like Self Help Sheep Hypnosis is gonna win, and i'm pumped!
In terms of current projects, i'm doing the lineart for two commissions. One an almost-sequence Panda sumo WG TF and the other a goopy hoopy Asriel TF.
I've gotten cracking on the lineart for the second half of the dragoness TF sequence on the side, with luck i'll have it an update on that next time :)
This fortnight's plant update is an exciting one - i've got a new plant :D One of my friends dropped it round the other week: a baby Monstera / Cheeseplant. It's not got any of the signature holes in its leaves yet (only the one she cut into it...) but i'm excited to see it grow.
I'll be back in a few days with an update on the winner of the monthly poll, and then in a fortnight for another update (where i'll probably be canvassing ideas for next month's poll...)
In the meantime, i've got a question: do you have any recommendations for making the Doe Public tier more attractive and growing the number of poll voters? (any comments about the value you get from being a Deer Friend is appreciated, as always :) )

Talking technique and what it was like to do each piece would definitely be interesting, and helpful if I get into learning art. I wonder what else might be a good $3 tier reward but I'm drawing blanks

Regarding building the lore, unfortunately i don't really build stories or worlds in my art, i wouldn't have much to say :( I *could* talk about the technical side of the drawing though. I think i might drop down to $2 (i've seen one artist, Keffotin, who prices their votes at that. I don't know if you know of other artists offering polls and what price they're at?)

2021-01-09 20:43:42 +0000 UTCYou might want to drop voting to $1 and push for more votes on the sites you post art to if you want more raw votes but I'm not sure what's best. As for adding something to the $3 tier, I know you don't like locking stuff behind Patreon but maybe you could do "director's commentary" on your existing pieces, elaborate on things, maybe add to the lore, and then after a month of being only on Patreon, put those into the descriptions of each piece. I'm happy at the $5 tier no matter what and I'm excited for more timelapses.
