17:25 HAHAHA love that we have the same thought pattern here. Almost at the end guys thanks for the reaction XD

I’m more of a season 2 fan and have read the light novels. I love the action animation and Makoto’s increased interaction with the world around him. The VA’s kill it too. I find that the dialogue and inflections really flesh out the characters compared to the light novels. God the art is gorgeous. Plus syudou’s music is perfect for the second opening. I loved his song for season one too.

TBF mana wise it's like the Goddess just decided to go down a few floors & bitchslap her (although I suppose magic-wise the Goddess has upper hand vs Makoto, but raw energy wise they are pretty even at this point, give or take), so her & Lancer were fucking tripping from the getgo... they can't even reach Root level, so WTF could they have possibly even done against Makoto lets be real here?

Skebaba

This is what having infinite lifespan (and even if you die you just respawn as an egg, waiting to rehatch from infancy, so no biggie anyway) does to a mf (also Root is a crazy damn bitch, she must have been grippy af cuz she on some psycho nutshit ngl)

Skebaba

I don't know why but for some reason by the end of this episode I really felt sorry for Sofia I mean it's not like she even doing anything she was created the way she was by a mad scientist who just want to fuck around with people's lives

Imagine thinking you've reached the (just about) absolute pinnacle of strength only to get slapped around by someone who looked bored the entire time loooool (I know you guys touched on this towards the end) I saw Sophia and Lancers sword world thing waaaaaay different from you guys. From my perspective, those were heroes trapped there against their will. By performing the exorcism (as the MC called it) he was freeing those souls from their eternal servitude. I felt absolutely no pity for Sophia. Sophia was a raging cunt that would have done the same thing if not worse if their positions were reversed. Sophia is a fantastic example of someone who thought they were the biggest fish in the pond only to realize that they were less than a cockroach in the end. My only complaint with how the MC handled the fight, was he drew it out a little too long. I get that he was probably trying to learn all her secrets or w/e before killing her but c'mon man. At least pretend like you're a little interested in the process lol

The guy is actually an adventurer from Tsige. He compared "Larva" to one of the impressive people he knows from Tsige and Shiki himself referred to him as an adventurer when the guy was turned into a sword. (The whole "thank you adventurer, if the priestess had turned into a sword, I would've lost" part) From context we can conclude that he joined Hibiki when she left Tsige after her training with Mio. That said, I don't blame them for lacking stronger emotions upon his death. He wasn't as essential to their group and they've seen lots and lots of allies die in this event.

The craziest part of all this is this man is still handicaping himself by having gear consistently eating his mana on his kenpachi shit.

Just to explain a wee bit a Kyudoka is a traditional Japanese archer but they mostly practice kyudokai as a meditative practice focusing on posture and form to the point of shutting everything out. They usually weren't focused on practicality for combat as much as perfect form kinda like kendo.

Casper Ghost

A "kyudoka" is someone who practices Kyudo, the Japanese martial art of archery. Kyudo is a discipline that goes beyond simply hitting a target; it emphasizes meditative focus, mindfulness, and personal expression. The term "kyudoka" refers to practitioners of this art, which evolved from kyujutsu, the archery used by samurai. Here's a more detailed look: Kyudo as a Martial Art: Kyudo is a modern Japanese martial art with roots in the archery techniques of the samurai. Beyond the Target: While hitting the target is part of Kyudo, the practice also focuses on the meditative state of aiming, developing mental discipline, and achieving a sense of harmony between mind, body, and spirit. Kyujutsu Connection: Kyudo is based on kyujutsu, the archery used by samurai for hunting and warfare. Kyudoka's Role: Kyudoka are not just archers, but individuals who strive to embody the principles of Kyudo, including truth, goodness, and beauty, in their practice and their lives. Spiritual and Physical Development: Kyudo is considered a path for self-improvement and spiritual growth, with practitioners seeking to unify their mind and body through the practice of archery.

8:00 oh he didn't take their shit he turned their souls into swords. That power is dope.

Casper Ghost

I do really enjoy that Makoto is an archer/kyudoka. I don't mind swords at all but unconventional main characters are better imo and a bow practitioner is rare.

Kaze

I’m glad to see I’m not the only one who felt kinda bad for Sofia in the fight. Like it was so outmatched it wasn’t even a fair fight at that point. Also I think the reason they weren’t that sad was because that guy wasn’t an OG member of their squad but a mercenary they either picked up when they got to that town cause he wasn’t there when they met Mio. So they probably only knew him for a day or two
