Thanks! I was pretty sure i remembered that from first season but as usual I was questioning my memory.😅

Daisuke_Takahiro

Im no Japanese expert either but in my years of watching sub animes and reading fan translations (they usually keep the -san, -kun, -sama, -chan, etc. honorifics unlike official translations) -chan is usually used by girls as its a more cute, childlike, and/or feminine but can by used by boys as well. As we see in Windbreaker, like you mentioned Kiryu uses -chan when calling Sakura, Suo, Nirei, and Tsuge and last season we had Choji (Shishitoren's leader) use it as well (Kame-chan for Togame, Ume-chan for Umemiya, and Ragi-chan for Hiragi.)

I see different flavors for different people. And I just leave it at that.

There is some chatter online with people calling this season trash. I respectfully disagree. I really like they way they address mental health, bullying, and gender preference. People forget that this is a bunch of teenage boys who are in constant fight or flight. Sakura has been through a lot and I'm happy to see them addressing his mental health and allowing him to process his emotions, as opposed to, him turning the negative emotions into anger and wanting to fight everyone and everything. Here you have a group of boys who are able to kick ass and give hugs to each other all while protecting their community. Thats whats up.

Tsubaki is one of the coolest characters in the series. Can't wait to see that one of his moves animated, I'm still not sure if my idea of what it looks like is correct.

to answer about the name being Windbreaker: the name of the gang, Bofurin, can be translated as wind breaker. or wind bell/wind chime

Valeri

The author mentioned that Tsubaki is a dude but just a crossdresser and gay - so you can use male pronouns. I am not Japanese either but it seems like Kiryu (pink-haired dude) uses the chan suffix for everyone so maybe you can use it for everybody?
