I literally talk to fill in dead space so:
A. The video stays entertaining.
B. It helps with the fair use argument.
But I notice something... When Director talks excessively, nobody really says anything—so I guess he's just funny. Cool. Adorkable doesn’t talk as much, but when she does, she sometimes goes off and talks over the dialogue... and me. Yet, when I talk... folks say I talk too much.
So at this point, I figure I just have an annoying voice or antics (which doesn’t bother me ‘cause I’ve always been annoying, lol). I don’t talk much around strangers, and I naturally hold back depending on who’s in the room—that’s just blending in.
Sooo… do y’all prefer Lee talks less?
And noooo, don’t say “save it till the end” because that turns a 35-minute video into a 45-minute one.
I was thinking of just letting Director and Adorkable do most of the talking and chilling in the background. And when it comes to reactions with my wife... if she’s not talking, then that’s just it—you get a quiet video.
To be clear, this isn’t an emotional topic; I’m just looking to improve the channel. I also have a second channel, @YaboyrockleeShow, where I do solo videos like Singles Inferno, and people don’t really complain about my talking there. Since it’s just me, I pause when I want. But I’m not pausing every time to speak when reacting with three people—it just doesn’t make sense time-wise.
So maybe I just focus on being expressive on my solo projects? What y’all think?

I’m late but no I love your commentary makes the video more enjoyable. Director and Adorkable too. I have yet to watch a video with your wife in it but I’m sure I’d enjoy those too 🤍

And she doesn’t talk much unless I say something so I guess they just wanna watch along with her and see her cry and it may be so soothing to them But the key is I only see issues when I’m the one talking so it seems that people are fine with our reaction that includes talking but I am the one who is annoying

The only time I'd ever actually show concern is if you were like talking over what you're reacting and missing what is going on, but that isn't what you do. When you talk about stuff, it's about what is actively happening in what you're watching, and I enjoy hearing you, adorkable, & DN thoughts on what just happened. Certain things happen in shows, and they make you feel a certain way, nothing wrong with expressing that as it happens instead of feeling as if you have to just play a background role. Keep expressing yourself Lee! I enjoy your takes on certain things that happen in shows. Never feel as though you have to stop that, it's part of what most of us here like, we like to hear your expressions and thoughts on what goes on.

IF reactors talk "too much" and prevents you from following the episode, then maybe don't watch reactions then, or go follow some that just grunts and go "uh uh" "yeah yeah" every 2 minutes

I'm slightly confused that that's even a question/issue. That being said, I only watch reactions to shows that I've already seen for the same reason (whether your channel or someone else's). I want to watch the show myself, first, without anyone talking at all, to see what I think about it and whether I enjoy it. Then, I'll watch someone react to it. In a reaction, y'all ARE the show, so don't stop what you're doing.

Never had an issue with it. I actually really enjoy the back and forth between you & DN, too. How you guys feed off each other lol Anyways, case in point.. There was one person I used to follow who would stop the video every.5.minutes - it got really annoying, to the point that I just stopped watching their reactions altogether. XD As for deep opinions, it might be best to keep them at the start or end of the video - simply for people who don't get bothered by it. Also, I might be biased (self proclaimed #1 Adorkable fan) but, sometimes I do feel like she will go to speak and someone else will just start talking and then she's just left sitting there, like a bump on a pickle. That's really the only thing that bothers me about your videos or format, but at the same time I realize you and Director aren't really doing it purposefully. All in all, I don't mind the current level of chatting.

I just don't go around commenting that you are the reason I watch y'all's reactions because I'm actually a nice person and normally wouldn't say that because it seems rude to the others. Everyone is different and will appreciate different things from different people. You all have a really good mix and balance of people and I think it works in your favor far more than you know

Just know that whatever your reacting to, these people are usually big time fans of it, so getting a bit agitated about a favorite part getting glanced over is normal. But they should calm themselves down before posting hurtful things. You are good at getting whoever is reacting with you to open up.

2025-03-18 00:19:33 +0000 UTCI'll preface this by saying i enjoy how you all do reactions, I personally don't think you "talk too much", if anything the one thing I dislike is when reactors talk too much over too much dialogue, if you guys can focus 100% on whatever train of thought you guys are having AND the dialogue then I guess it's ok, since english is my second language I really can't focus on dialogue + yapping at the same time but I know that's just a me issue. If anything I'd like to add that I enjoy how you decide when to pause and sometimes even go back a few seconds to replay stuff you guys might've missed or misunderstood, some reactors pause too much, others don't do it at all (this used to be you guys) but I think you do it just when it's necessary and doesn't affect the flow of the video.

But honestly, your commentary adds so much value and insight—it’s what makes your reactions unique and engaging! Keep doing you!

I watch it first by myself and if I wanted to watch a quiet video, I'd re-watch it by myself again. On the flip side, I can see where some are coming from. Maybe they feel like if you're talking through it, you're going to miss the 20 second line of dialogue that they specifically want to see you react to. However, that's just not going to be feasible in a reaction channel and the people complaining about it just need to accept that you might miss that bit. No one is stopping them from making their own reaction/discussion videos if they want to have a dialogue about whatever part they were really passionate about.

If I had issues with "people talking to much" in videos, I wouldn't watch or support them, and there are certainly channels that I've crossed off. I love the banter, I love hearing people's thoughts, it allows me to feel like I'm watching the show with others and often you all will express opinions that I wouldn't think of. There is no perfect way to make content, so don't stress.

Obviously you talk more in your solo vids, a little bit less with your wife, a little bit less with DN and least amount in trio. When you feel like talking it usually means you know you need to talk and I trust you to make that decision, its been working pretty well for me so far... I havent seen those comments but maybe people want your wife to talk more but can't say it so they are saying it in a different way or something.I personally had no issue with Severance vids.

2025-03-17 23:10:36 +0000 UTCI always enjoy you all talk and never thought you "talk a lot". Usually when Director talks more it's for something crazy, something funny, or theorizing. Adorkable doesn't talk much, so it's noticeable when she does. One the other hand you talk when you WANT to talk about something but also when no one is talking in order to fill the dead space. That's what people who say you talk a lot don't figure out, you talking less does not mean Adorkable or Director will talk more. Filling the dead space is a chore and an obstacle for many reactors. In addition, being able to do that without being annoying is an incredible feat. I truly commend you for that. And if 1 out of 10 times you cut someone off accidently when filling the dead space, it doesn't matter. It's way better than having dead silence for the other 9 out of 10 times. You're usually aware when someone has something to say unless you're extremely hyped. And hyped Lee is always fun to watch.

I'm guessing that if there are people who don't like you talking, it's more like a minority. You are especially chatty, yes, I don't always like it?! Maybe but in most of them I'm fine with it because it's real, it's your reaction. I also think long term it is more beneficial to the Channel and the core audience, for you to just be yourself as it will ultimately keep the reactions more real and thus more appealing. I rarely comment on posts and i think most people don't mind and thus don't comment either. So i think its wise not to read into it too much 👍🏽
