I think HinaΒ΄s strategy as you said Lee is valid if there was no one on TaikiΒ΄s life, you know if you like X person but they do not like you back, you can still try to make them grow some feelings for you by being assertive, it is valid if they do not have anyone in their lives. But in this situation Taiki has Chinatsu so he is actively feeling guilt cause he has to stop Hina approaching, the problem is, since she is his closest friend it is tough. I would not want to be in his position.

China, Hina & Haryu made it so he feels left behind & now on top of that you are placed in a position where you have to maybe hurt & lose a dear friend by rejecting her feelings to keep pursuing the one you love which is pretty fucked up
