(1/19/25 update) WOAH... yall really wanna be involved in this, huh? 😅 Thank you so much for the overwhelming response! I'm both very excited and also dreading to go through these and narrow down to a select few to select as my players, because yall provided such enthusiastic responses and shown such passion that it's gonna be heartbreaking having to narrow this down to just five people. I decided I'm not putting closing this until I properly settle on who I pick, there's a lot of completed forms to sift through and decide from arghhhhhhhh thank you so much tho!

Well, we’re live, pal.
Looking for folks who are interested in joining a DnD (5e) campaign hosted by yours truly! Expect a colorful, mostly lighthearted, potentially dramatic, but overall fun adventure as we tell exciting and diverse stories together! (Experience not required!)
Here’s the pitch! The story takes place in the fantasy(?) video game-inspired setting of Lore where different realities have begun inexplicably crashing together. The players are various “heroes” of their own different stories -- and in fact, entirely different settings inspired by different game genres -- who found themselves suddenly displaced into the realm by a malevolent force who wants to drag everything into its existence, including planes of reality beyond anyone’s imaginations. Our heroes’ mission: to traverse these ever-changing worlds and restore balance before everything as they know it becomes one with the singularity. Think like a Super Smash Bros. story mode, but playing as characters from fictional games.
Expect fox girls and transmutation.
Thematically, I think the big throughline is that of “growth via adaptation” (you could say, transformation? ayyy), where the world is hurtling together as a crazy mismatched crossover of different genres and stuff and taking people with them, but it’s still a place where people are free to explore, experiment, and change by interacting with the world and everyone in it. Consequently, while I wanna lean this more towards a “linear story” instead of “sandbox”-type campaign, I want players to involve themselves in the process!
I’m hosting the adventure, but I also really want it to be YOUR stories -- it will always be a collaborative process, and I wanna hear what sorta adventure you’d love to explore with your characters with fellow like-minded players! I think we’ll have a lot of fun assembling a patchwork of novel ideas into making something we can all call our own :D
A slightly more detailed rundown of the sorta campaign I’m seeking to host here:
Based in 5E (with possible partial 2024 ruleset integration, to be decided). Expect a nice balance of roleplay, storytelling, problem-solving, adventuring, and combat!
Ideally weekly meetups, campaign may go for around a year or so? Length to be determined based on the flow of how things go!
Tone, again, is mostly colorful and lighthearted, but still may wade into some dramatic territory from time to time when necessary (compare to modern, semi-serial cartoons like Steven Universe/Adventure Time/Owl House lol). Content-wise, think it PG-13-level -- clean but with some occasional hot sauce, don’t want it to be too randy oi oi.
Open to a mix of experienced veteran players and also newcomers curious about the game! I want the vibe to be easygoing and inviting!
Will be a private/personal campaign just for fun! I’m not interested in making “content” out of this and putting pressure on folks to “perform” like it’s for a stream or podcast unless the players REALLY want to.
Expecting to use Roll20 as grid-map for combat/exploration, though don’t expect it to be super ornate and loaded with visuals (I’d like to draw art of some things like characters, but my bandwidth for massive campaign-exclusive stuff is very limited. Theatre of the mind is our friend!)
Communicating with Discord with voice chat. May potentially use webcams, just because I think expressing with our faces makes the social interplay feel more natural.
More details like gameplay rules, establishing lines and veils of subject matter, expected playing conditions, and scheduling to be determined among selected players during session zero!
I don't have a deadline for when I'll be closing this form, but when I finally decide on a selection of players, I will notify the recipients directly and publicly announce that the search has been completed. I'm very excited to see you there!
